They were 6-6, stop trying to pump them up to feel good about the loss. The transparency is blinding.
What loss? App State is a team I do not give two craps about! Had they played Miami, they would lose 9 times out of ten.
Exactly what two plays separated Miami from going 4-8? Did you just look at their schedule and decided that the two close games were one play from flipping?
When did I mention App St?
This post is about LA Tech fans attempting to prop up Miami as a top 25 team to make yourself feel better win or lose. Miami in 2019 was a below average P5 team that finished 5th in the weakest P5 division of the weakest P5 conference. That isn’t spin, those are results. Good luck to them today, go get that P5 scalp.
But don’t post how weak other P5 wins are all season and thump your chest about a 6-6 Miami team.
This below average P5 team has defeated a ranked team, and took a Top 10 team within one play of another victory. This team was 4 plays away from an NY6 bowl.
And you know what, I am annoyed for having to appear in support of Miami, the team I hate more than most other teams.
You can dissect every teams season and spin it. Miami consistently did not make plays in most games they played and finished 10th in the worst ACC in recent memory. You are what your record says you are.
Miami was extremely inconsistent, I'll give you that. On some nights they were beating ranked teams (Did App State beat any ranked teams?) on another night they lost to C-USA team. They should have beaten #8 Fla, UNC, VT, and Ga Tech and were within one play of doing that each time. And what they did to bowl-bound Louisville should be punishable by law.

Appy State had its chance to prove it is better than the U, in Boone. If I recall correctly, the game was over before the first quarter ended. Everything else is pure speculation.

They would've won 8 to 10 games with Miami's schedule. The ACC is incredibly weak and App State is a good team. Take away Clemson (not on Miami's schedule) and the ACC drops below the AAC is terms of overall strength
I do not think App State would have defeated a 24th-ranked Virginia or lost to 8th-ranked Florida by only 4 points.
Virginia struggled to beat #127 ODU at home. They converted 1-11 on 3rd down and had 244 yards. The ACC is full of inconsistent, mediocre teams. Without a doubt App State or FAU would have a solid chance of beating any team in the ACC not named Clemson.
As far as Florida goes, you can never judge a team by it's first game of the season.

A game played three years ago has bearing on comparing teams today? Please stop posting ignorance. Each week a poll comes out and every voter has put App ahead of Miami in all three polls. Please stop comparing the two, the 2019 resumes aren’t close.

So you're saying if you had to bet your life on a game between Miami and App St this year you would take Miami? Okay.
Miami may (and I stress may) have better athletes but App St is clearly the better "team". No one can argue that and the eye test would confirm it.
It would be silly to think otherwise.

May have better Athletes? Eye test - Half of Miami defense was over 6’5”, I honestly don't know if I have ever seen a college team as tall as Miami.
Miami needs a QB and some O-linemen. It wouldn’t surprise me if Miami wins 8-10 games next year though. Their defense is solid.

Fact of the matter is their defense played inconsistently all season and this Miami team finished 6-7 in a very weak ACC. This was not a good team and App St. is clearly better than Miami this year.

I agree that Appy State is better than Miami...this year. I think ASU would beat the "U" if they played now. But, given the amount of traffic across the national blogs, a Facebook page, Twitter, etc. I follow, Louisiana Tech is getting far more mention and play than had we played Appy State in the N.O. Bowl. This is not a knock on Appy State...it's unfortunately the state of affairs in CFB with the bias toward P5 conferences.
Beating Miami is good for our program. Period.

Good post & that settles it so we can move on to the WKU & USM bowl games and the App fans can go back to the Sunbelt board

You team was bad 3 years ago? That wasn't what y'all were saying before the game. And 3 years is not really that long ago.
Y'all had an opportunity to prove it on the field, and you couldn't get it done. So you wait for one season when you are statistically better to talk about woulda coulda. LaTech didn't woulda coulda , they DID.

It’s still better to beat Miami for the program but it would have been just as fun beating App State. Apps offense is definitely better than Miami. But Miami’s defense is probably a bit tougher tha App. I don’t think JMar Smith would have been as rattled with App States line play.
