WMU fans largely believe this game could go either way. In fact, few would be surprised at a loss here. We've been 'meh' since our Cotton Bowl season, and there's been skepticism that our third-year HC can win "big games."

Contributing to that is a bad taste in a lot of Bronco fans' mouths about our upset loss at NIU to finish the regular season (a win would've put us in the MAC championship game).

I've always kinda liked WKU, I suppose, because they are another Western and we were also called Hilltoppers once. My favorite WKU football alum might be KC Armstrong of the Howard Stern show fame. :)

Armstrong played when we weren’t that good. Late 90s maybe. Not a lot of big crowds back then. I used to sit in the front row of the top part of the stadium. I can’t remember who was our starting quarterback. Hell, it could have been Willie T. But he was stinking it up.

My buddies and I started screaming “Put in Armstrong, Harbaugh!!!” We kept it up every bad play the starter had. To the point some of the players started tapping Armstrong on the shoulder and pointing up at us. He turned around and kind of grinned. Everyone knows on a bad team the backup quarterback is the most popular guy in the fan base. I don’t believe Harbaugh ever put him in that game. But it wasn’t by lack of effort on our part.

I also believe he played on the same team as Rod “He Hate Me” Smart. Too many years ago. KC made it pretty big but just not in sports.

Miami was extremely inconsistent, I'll give you that. On some nights they were beating ranked teams (Did App State beat any ranked teams?) on another night they lost to C-USA team. They should have beaten #8 Fla, UNC, VT, and Ga Tech and were within one play of doing that each time. And what they did to bowl-bound Louisville should be punishable by law.

Appy State had its chance to prove it is better than the U, in Boone. If I recall correctly, the game was over before the first quarter ended. Everything else is pure speculation.

A game played three years ago has bearing on comparing teams today? Please stop posting ignorance. Each week a poll comes out and every voter has put App ahead of Miami in all three polls. Please stop comparing the two, the 2019 resumes aren’t close.

You team was bad 3 years ago? That wasn't what y'all were saying before the game. And 3 years is not really that long ago.

Y'all had an opportunity to prove it on the field, and you couldn't get it done. So you wait for one season when you are statistically better to talk about woulda coulda. LaTech didn't woulda coulda , they DID.

What is your IQ, I try not to insult people with this type of logic...

What loss? App State is a team I do not give two craps about! Had they played Miami, they would lose 9 times out of ten.

Exactly what two plays separated Miami from going 4-8? Did you just look at their schedule and decided that the two close games were one play from flipping?

When did I mention App St?

This post is about LA Tech fans attempting to prop up Miami as a top 25 team to make yourself feel better win or lose. Miami in 2019 was a below average P5 team that finished 5th in the weakest P5 division of the weakest P5 conference. That isn’t spin, those are results. Good luck to them today, go get that P5 scalp.

But don’t post how weak other P5 wins are all season and thump your chest about a 6-6 Miami team.

A lot more fans attended the LA Tech vs Miami game (33K) than attended your New Orleans Bowl appearance (21K). Just saying......Appy wasn't that big of a draw.

Beating Miami is good for our program. Period.

There's no question that telling recruits your team beat the Univ of Miami in a bowl game in front of 33K fans --all LA Tech fans-- is much more valuable that telling them you beat Appy State. 03-lmfao

I've seen Appy play twice: First, when they lost to GA Southern at home (and I have a hard time believing Miami would lose to GS at home), and secondly against UAB. Frankly I thought UAB stayed in that game much longer than they should have. Appy couldn't really put 'em away until late. I'm just not impressed with Appy like some of you people seem to be.

The people that matter are. Let’s see how many people are impressed with LA Tech when the polls come out. Should I go ahead and spoil the results?

UNC > Miami
UAB > LA Tech

Sorry.

You are right. The average fan especially outside of the G5 could care less about App State. Miami was a better opponent in so many different ways.

App State cant even go undefeated in weak a Sunbelt conference and we are supposed to be impressed 03-lmfao

I personally don't like that this has deteriorated into a Tech vs. Appy State tit-for-tat. I like and respect Appy's football program. Like us, it's not their fault they have to deal with the circumstances they are in. But! they do. They have overcome whatever disadvantages they face, pushed past the obstacles placed in their way. Fact is, Appy State is a very good football program and they have earned it on their own merits. I salute the Appy State Mountaineers. Well done, good sirs!

BTW...I mean no disrespect using "Appy" to refer to your school. It's just that I can't spell Appalchain...er...sorry.

Congrats on a great season Appy State!

Don’t post inept thoughts and then get sensitive. This is basic math, your responses are ignorant and that is being polite. Comparing teams three years apart is using middle school logic... The seniors on this class were freshman and Juniors (16 that get time at App) were red shirting or not in college.

You should view that as an insult. Miami was a bad team this year, 6-7, 10th in the ACC.

LOL. The next time someone over there wishes a natural disaster on a stadium full of fans of Louisiana Tech, because of their irrational hatred of my "irrelevant" school, please take the high road and call them out.

LaTech did what y'all couldn't do and has gotten more PR mileage out of it than y'all got for winning in NO.

Don’t post inept thoughts and then get sensitive. This is basic math, your responses are ignorant and that is being polite. Comparing teams three years apart is using middle school logic... The seniors on this class were freshman and Juniors (16 that get time at App) were red shirting or not in college.

Trying to use what I never claimed as grounds for getting your feathers ruffled will not work here. I never compared any class of players.

So for clarity, let me repeat. Your lost to the canes in Boone, with your fans in the stands, is not better than Techs win vs the canes. Your win in NO is not as newsworthy as Tech's win.

For a fanbase that loves to talk about history, I am surprised you want to pretend that 2016 game never happened.
