Unless you think these games will have more than 42k, Cajuns opener versus southern will be number 1

So how much does the stadium in Mobile seat? It's clear Beltfan doesn't have a clue.

Oh, but Beltfan does have a clue. You seem to be the one who doesn't. 40,000 is the capacity.

I can sort of see what he is saying. Ladd seats 40K roughly, so if South was to sell it out, while bad weather hit the Cajuns opener, you could see the potential for the game to draw more.

My guess however is that he had no idea what kind of crowd Southern can bring to a nearby game. If all of Southern's fans do the typical SWAC thing and leave after the band performs at half, I could see the USA game having the larger 2nd half crowd...

I've been watching SWAC football since the age of 4 and I can only name a few schools that have fans who leave after halftime and those are Texas Southern, UAPB, and Prairie View so can we kill the myth that this is some sort of a SWAC thing.

It more than likely will. But why don't we stop acting like children playing in the park saying, "my daddy makes more money that your daddy" ?

Have seen people leave a lot of stadiums after halftime. Team is down, hot weather, cold weather, aggravated kids, drunk, somewhere else to go, rain, snow, sleet, but even if they were to leave because they came to see the band play that's not such a terrible thing. Want them to stay and watch the game, but the school still makes some money from it and they probably have a good time. At least the extra support they bring helps the team get out of the gate right.

When we played at SC State the stadium was full to the end. They also had tailgating as good as any school in the South.

Georgia Southern fans alone have told us they are going to pack the Dome. If that is the case, the 30,237 number we had at our first home game may be in jeopardy.

We know that there will be 10k to 12k GSU students in attendance. UGA will be on a bye and GT is out of town. And its one of a handful of games that will get otherwise disinterested Atlanta alumni (Both GSU and GS) to possibly come to a game. Add in GS students originally from the Atlanta area who went to HS with GSU students and 25k starts to look conservative.

We KNOW that there will be 10-12k State STUDENTS??? Come'on man. We aren't the NCAA so we don't buy your silly numbers. You MIGHT get 5k students, 10k overall. The other 20k fans will be Southern fans, and will make our presence known.

That should be an interesting game. Should help GaSt attendance a lot.

ULL will probably have the highest average and single game attendance. USA vs MSU might grab the single game attendance top spot. We just need to report tickets sold. If the people don't show up that's on them.

the GSU vs GS game will be pretty well attended especially if GS is doing well and GSU has upset a couple teams. I know we all can't win every game, but winning helps with attendance. I predict 27K for the GSU vs GS game (and yes GS will have the majority of fans ~15K).

App should get ~25K+ average
GS ~20k+ (last year was an anomaly, all the newness gives the numbers a boost)
GSU with Air Force and GS in the dome. 18K average, if they have a big home opener then maybe higher.
ULL 28K
ASU 26K
USA ~22K (big boost from the MSU game)
TXST 17K
Idaho ~15K
NMSU ~15K
Troy ~21K
ULM 16K (no idea what there schedule is like this year)

These are really just random guesses on what little information I have on the teams. I hope the Cajuns are over 30K (I think they can) and App may surprise some people (they always like to sandbag).

As Long as Troy and USA are having a good season and the weather is good it will probably be around 25k.... It would be higher if it wasn't a weekday game. Had this been at Saturday game you might be looking at pushing 30k

Troy will likely have around 26/27k for Duke.

No way GS has 15k for GSU especially after paying for GT a few weeks earlier. Maybe half that. There will be as many GSU students there as for any of our opening games do count on 10k to 12k students on the GSU side. Add in season ticket holders and that is 25k and that is before otherwise disinterested alumni start buying tickets just because its GSU vs GS.

We got 10k students for each of our first 2 openers and about 8k year 3. They will show up for GS because there will be GS students that they went HS with.

It's not the opener, and you guys will likely be 2-5 at this point in the season. Yes we will help draw some of your fans out of the woodwork, but I don't think that many will show.

Also, I love how 2-3 years ago the rhetoric was that "no one would come to watch state play southern" and now you guys are proclaiming that our game will top SBC attendance for the year. Love it. Where is SaintDK when you need him?

How many season tickets does GA St. sell?

These numbers that are thrown out aren't syncing up with the pictures I've seen of that stadium.

I can buy that. I think the casual State alum or student will show up to watch them play Georgia Southern. I think we will have 10k for Tech and 10K for State. I know that I (along with some others) will only make the Tech game.

USA's home games are Mississippi State, Troy, Navy, Texas State, Georgia State, and Georgia Southern. I'm expecting a huge crowd for Mississippi State, and possibly even a sellout. I'm expecting a large crowd for Troy since it's a rival game. Being on a Friday and being on TV can hurt attendance a little, but who knows; maybe it will help. We play Navy on Black Friday. Black Friday isn't ideal but USA fans are optimistic about attendance for that game since we are only an hour away from the Pensacola Naval Base. That is three of our 6 games with large crowd potential. Then you have Homecoming (Georgia State), Honor Band day and Hall of Fame Game (Texas State) and Georgia Southern. This will be our best year of average attendance to date. Where that number ends up being is anyone's guess at this point. Weather plays a big role in our attendance. Mobile is the rainiest city in America afterall. We just need to hope for good weather like crazy.

How has your averages looked the past few year?

Not good. The last two year's we've had terrible weather luck.

In 2012 our season opener against UTSA was moved last minute due to Hurricane Isaac on a holiday weekend. The Nicholls State game that followed it was on a rainy day. The Troy game after that was an absolute monsoon. There were thousands of people that stayed in their tents and never even came inside the stadium because of the rain.

Last year we had broken scanners for game 1 against Southern Utah (actually had good attendance for it too). It rained the day of the Kent State game. The ULM game was in the 40's with wind gusts in the 20 mph range. The Louisiana Lafayette game was in the 40's and upper 30's with wind gusts in the 15-20 mph range. Not fun games to sit in.

I think this year stands to be a big year. I just hope we finally get a string of good weather for a change.

Oh yes, it may very well be. BUT, it's gonna be 3/4 Blue & White in those seats, PANAMA! YOU, and your little ankle-nipping buddies have seen to that.

We bought those seats for ONE reason and ONE reason ONLY: to watch that commuter-college and their over-inflated alumni get peck-r slapped for all the trash and BS we Eagles have had to tolerate for what 4... 5... years now?!?

You'll get your 'payday' game...
WE GET PAYBACK!
