Going to be a lot of passion for that game.
Sounds like it may be the beat down in heat town.
Can understand GS wanting the big win over GSU
though. Lots of talk for years.

HO OH... you know it, Apps!

How's things? We haven't conversed in a while.
I'd give reps for that last post, but Swagger won't let me.01-wingedeagle

You must have missed the announcement (post) with new/old rep point instructions. You just need to post more so you can.

the GSU vs GS game will be pretty well attended especially if GS is doing well and GSU has upset a couple teams. I know we all can't win every game, but winning helps with attendance. I predict 27K for the GSU vs GS game (and yes GS will have the majority of fans ~15K).

App should get ~25K+ average
GS ~20k+ (last year was an anomaly, all the newness gives the numbers a boost)
GSU with Air Force and GS in the dome. 18K average, if they have a big home opener then maybe higher.
ULL 28K
ASU 26K
USA ~22K (big boost from the MSU game)
TXST 17K
Idaho ~15K
NMSU ~15K
Troy ~21K
ULM 16K (no idea what there schedule is like this year)

These are really just random guesses on what little information I have on the teams. I hope the Cajuns are over 30K (I think they can) and App may surprise some people (they always like to sandbag).

USA's home games are Mississippi State, Troy, Navy, Texas State, Georgia State, and Georgia Southern. I'm expecting a huge crowd for Mississippi State, and possibly even a sellout. I'm expecting a large crowd for Troy since it's a rival game. Being on a Friday and being on TV can hurt attendance a little, but who knows; maybe it will help. We play Navy on Black Friday. Black Friday isn't ideal but USA fans are optimistic about attendance for that game since we are only an hour away from the Pensacola Naval Base. That is three of our 6 games with large crowd potential. Then you have Homecoming (Georgia State), Honor Band day and Hall of Fame Game (Texas State) and Georgia Southern. This will be our best year of average attendance to date. Where that number ends up being is anyone's guess at this point. Weather plays a big role in our attendance. Mobile is the rainiest city in America afterall. We just need to hope for good weather like crazy.

How has your averages looked the past few year?

Not good. The last two year's we've had terrible weather luck.

In 2012 our season opener against UTSA was moved last minute due to Hurricane Isaac on a holiday weekend. The Nicholls State game that followed it was on a rainy day. The Troy game after that was an absolute monsoon. There were thousands of people that stayed in their tents and never even came inside the stadium because of the rain.

Last year we had broken scanners for game 1 against Southern Utah (actually had good attendance for it too). It rained the day of the Kent State game. The ULM game was in the 40's with wind gusts in the 20 mph range. The Louisiana Lafayette game was in the 40's and upper 30's with wind gusts in the 15-20 mph range. Not fun games to sit in.

I think this year stands to be a big year. I just hope we finally get a string of good weather for a change.

So unless it's sunny and 75 most people in Mobile couldn't care less about your football team?

Oh yes, it may very well be. BUT, it's gonna be 3/4 Blue & White in those seats, PANAMA! YOU, and your little ankle-nipping buddies have seen to that.

We bought those seats for ONE reason and ONE reason ONLY: to watch that commuter-college and their over-inflated alumni get peck-r slapped for all the trash and BS we Eagles have had to tolerate for what 4... 5... years now?!?

Because the trash talking has been only been one sided for the past 4 or 5 years now. We haven't heard a peep out of Southern fans about our lack of football program the 10 years prior to that.

That post didn't make any sense. Why would GaSo say anything about a nonexistent football program? The only time anything was said was when GaSt invaded our boards, telling us that you will wipe the field with us. Nothing brought us more joy than to see you belly crawl through almost every season.

What I'm saying is we've had bad weather luck so who knows what attendance would have been, particularly for the 2012 Troy game. Despite weather we've averaged 16,360 the past two years. To put it in perspective, Alabama State averaged 14951 over the past two years.

No doubt the SBC will gave an increase and I'm betting a fairly big one. But it's only a start with our conference. In the next few years, no one will be under 23-24K with several over 30K for the season. We are growing every season, every year.

What we help in football, we might take away in basketball. Hopefully, with the change in coaches, not for long though.

Not so sure about that...I don't believe Idaho can hold that many, NMSU will need a big bump up in attendance, and although GaSt definitely can average that much, but unless they become conference champs, I don't see 23K-24K average.

On the flipside, Louisiana, App, and stAte are probably going to be the only ones who will average over 30K. I think Texas State can, but will require more winning and marquee matchups in that beautiful stadium of theirs.

Here is an update on ticket sales for the MSU game:

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/...cart_river

Greg Keel, South Alabama's director of ticket sales and donor donations, said tickets for the game are selling at a brisk pace. He said only about 1,000 seats remain available on the East stands, with about 2,000 remaining along the West stands. There are end zone seats available.

Also, MSU was allotted 3,700 tickets for this game, not 5,000.

It will be a sellout! Ladd has about 40,000 seats, so it appears that about 33,000 have been sold at the moment.

Skully, don't give him a seat on the front porch. MSU will be a sell out along with Navy. Let him hate but impress us by having Troy sell their 3,700 ticket allotment.
