UL and Ark State are coming off several good years in a row, so their ticket sales will be high.

Throw in the fact there are a few home games against P5 programs and you have a recipe for a great attendance season.

FWIW, Georgia Southern averaged less than 15,000 last year. It was likely an abnormal year, but it is what it is. I don't expect that to be the case this year.

Yeah it was definitely a weird year. A not so great home schedule plus consruction taking away seating plus a new ticket policy for students (instead of scanning id at the gate students had to pick up their ticket the week before) really screwed things up.

The ticket policy for students is back to normal (scan ID at the gate) and they can get a companion ticket for a reduced rate so hopefully student attendance will be back up to what it was prior to last year.

We should also get good crowds for family day and homecoming, no matter the opponent. Attendance will slack off the last three games (colder), especially Idaho (weekend after Thanksgiving). We may not have 18k for Idaho.

I expect 30,000 for our first home game as well. But I'm a bit more optimistic than you I think we will have 20,000 minimum at every game including Idaho... But it will depend if the fans see improvement in the team. If we win all the games at home heading onto Idaho, then we will have a good turnout. My personal mile marker for progress this year will be 5 wins at home and one on the road.

Playoff attendance the week after Thanksgiving has been south of 15k, with no exceptions. Having the game included in season tickets with no games to follow will help attendance, but I'd be shocked if we had 20k+ no matter our record at the time.

I have heard that there are plans to double deck the presss box side within the next 5 years. That would push capacity to somewhere around 32-33 thousand or so. We need to fill up the 25,000 we have for now and hopefully within the next 5 years we will add another 7-8 thousand seats. Alot of that has to do with us being sucessful. We need to win and show our fans we can be a competitor for a Sun Belt championship. I know it may not happen overnight but we need to get to the point we are winning at least 7 games per year.

If we are winning at minimum 7 games a year and get a few marquee wins in there, I can almost guarantee (as much as a fan can) that we will begin more construction by 2020. Not sure if the third deck on the visitor's side or a rehaul of the press and luxury boxes plus another deck would be first...

The waiting list for the luxury boxes is pretty long. I would imagine TK would take advantage of the high demand and build new luxury boxes with shorter commitments (currently 10 years, I believe).

We will be at 32,000 total capacity by 2020. Lead pipe l....err, I mean, it's going to happen.

We only have 5 home games this year and I expect good crowds for all except the Saturday after Thanksgiving vs. ULM. Historically this has been the first round of the FCS playoffs and we have struggled to draw well on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I could see a 12 to 15 thousand crowd for that one. But our other games should draw very well, especially the home opener vs. Savannah St. and the Thur, night game vs. App. St. I can see a standing room only crowd for the App. game. I also think the Thur. night game vs. Troy will draw very well.

I predict we beat 2012 attendance average and have almost 22k per game. Having 2 Thursday games is a wild card, but the students could make up for the loss of walk ups. It will be interesting to see the turnout for ulm. Students will be out a lot of people away for the holiday.

That's exciting to hear, but we've got to fill up what we've got now first. As you mentioned, winning will do that. That being said, I think we will average 20-22k.

From what I've read , we need to sell 10k season tickets before another expansion will occur. Last count put us over 6k. I hope we reach 7k this year and grow from there. Sellouts will encourage people to by season tix even if they only plan on coming to half the home games.

If Troy and USA are having pretty decent years I really think that game will be 2-3 on list

Unless you think these games will have more than 42k, Cajuns opener versus southern will be number 1

So how much does the stadium in Mobile seat? It's clear Beltfan doesn't have a clue.

I can sort of see what he is saying. Ladd seats 40K roughly, so if South was to sell it out, while bad weather hit the Cajuns opener, you could see the potential for the game to draw more.

My guess however is that he had no idea what kind of crowd Southern can bring to a nearby game. If all of Southern's fans do the typical SWAC thing and leave after the band performs at half, I could see the USA game having the larger 2nd half crowd...

We were averaging 19k and 20k in regular-season games before last year.

I'm thinking (and hoping) last year was an aberration and we will be in the middle of the SBC pack in attendance this year.

Also, aside from a conference attendance record, I'm wondering if we can beat CUSA in attendance? That'd be pretty cool.

TXST is not historic for large crowds. With the exception of TXTech we haven't had a near sell-out of BCS since we opened the north addition. That said, we have made steady progress in increasing attendance each year. I do worry that with 2 week day games we may not see any marked increase this year. I think Navy gives us a good shot at being at or near capacity (Tech was over by 3K) to bolster the avg.

Southern brings it, we had over 42k last game with southern and the fire Marshall turned thousands away. The Cajuns weren't very good then but a lot came out to see southern's band. We probably had 25k and they brought the other 17k. They would have had 20k if the fire Marshall hadn't stopped it. I expect us to reach the 42,350 that the fire Marshall has set, I think it will be a lot more lopsided in the Cajuns favor this time around.

Assuming there is no significant let down with the legacy members, App and GaSo will more than do their parts. I can guarantee we'll average at least 24k.

I think conservatively the State vs. Southern game will beat more than 25k. Especially if we have 2 or more wins under our belt entering it. I mean we had 26k when we opened the season 2.

Georgia Southern fans alone have told us they are going to pack the Dome. If that is the case, the 30,237 number we had at our first home game may be in jeopardy.

We know that there will be 10k to 12k GSU students in attendance. UGA will be on a bye and GT is out of town. And its one of a handful of games that will get otherwise disinterested Atlanta alumni (Both GSU and GS) to possibly come to a game. Add in GS students originally from the Atlanta area who went to HS with GSU students and 25k starts to look conservative.
