RE: 2023 Big 12 Football Schedule... to be released "Mid December"
New PAC doesn't even have anything to offer Arizona or Colorado without LA and on Amazon.

Welcome to Big 12 Arizona and Colorado!

$40 million to be seen only on Amazon Prime is a horrible deal. Also without the Los Angeles schools, it is not much benefit, as TCU recruits southern cal (students not necessarily players), and playing Oregon St and Washington St does not help that. Oregon may not even be in the Pac for long. OSU would benefit even less as I do not think they have any ties to southern cal.

Makes sense. It’s not that the pac12 has nothing to offer over the big12, rather, it’s the massive exit penalties a big12 school would incur if it chose to jump. The truth is the big12 schools are together because of exit penalties.

Why are four corners staying in the pac12 knowing fully well that Oregon and Washington are potential BIG candidate. There no exit fees, no GOR holding them back, why aren’t they jumping to the big12.

acQuestion for legacy big12 fans, would you rather your school is the pac12 without usc and ucla, playing Arizona, Colorado , Arizona state and Utah, or would you rather be in the new big12 playing your legacy conference mates and four incoming schools.

I don't think that matters at all now. Bottom line is no one in B12 is going to pay a 70 million dollar exit fee to play in the Pac.

Won't be til the second half of January now.

Likely due to OU and UT possibly departing early

How does OUT leaving in 2024 affect 2023 schedule?

How does OUT leaving in 2024 affect 2023 schedule?

They initially planned home and home conference games with OUT for 23/24 with the new schools, but if they leave early that throws that schedule out the window. Additionally, the rumor from sports reporters is that in exchange for the early exit, OUT will agree to play non-conference games with the B12. But since non-conference limits the number of games they can play against B12 opponents, that throws off who they initially planned for OUT to play.

I'm sure they are re-valuating 2023 to see what games make the most sense from a competitive standpoint and from a potential match-up/viewership perspective since it looks like there will only be one year at 14 teams instead of two.

RE: 2023 Big 12 Football Schedule... to be released "Mid December"
My guess is the schedule was originally done with OUT staying the full term and is now being reworked with them leaving a year earlier. Why would we let them buy their way out a year earlier? Incoming Pac programs. An 18 team conference for 1 year isn't feasible.

Yormark said today it'll be in the next couple weeks.

Believe they have to provide it to the networks by Feb 1.

He also said that the holdup had nothing to do with OUT and he expects them at this time to be with the Big 12 through Summer 2025. I call BS on that one though........

BS is right. You make a contingency plan, but you expect them to have exited.

Yeah I refuse to believe it has nothing to do with Oklahoma and Texas.

As an ISU fan, I'm fine if we don't play them again. We draw crowds the same with or without them on the schedule

I hope we get a schedule soon. I’m hoping the Bearcats get BYU at home. I’ve got a good friend who’s a BYU fan and we plan on being at Nippert for the Cougars’ first visit.

Obviously they are squabbling. Think there will not be an agreement on the schedule or grant of rights until they know what the pac12 media value will be. As unlikely as it may seem, all big12 schools are still exploring their options.

I don't think that has anything to do with the schedule.

What option does each member have?

The SEC is not going to take any B12 member.

WVU would gladly take a BIG invite but that is just dreaming. They might take an ACC invite but that is not going to happen.

KS would love a BIG invite but if the BIG wanted them they could have had them instead of Nebraska.

Why would any B12 want to go to the PAC?
