So we've talked about this before, years ago, in who "may" be...now that we've all played each other for a few years...who do consider your CUSA rival?

For us (Marshall) I would say it's (in this order):

1. WKU
2. MTSU
3. Southern Miss


I think ODU may be at some point, and Charlotte would make sense as well some day...

Southern Miss is our primary rival. We've had a pretty friendly bball rivalry with UTEP since they joined CUSA and ODU, WKU, and Charlotte that began in the old Sun Belt days.

By far the "Reagan Era" Sun Belt teams:

Old Dominion, Western Kentucky and Charlotte (too bad VCU isn't in C-USA)

PS: I also like Middle

Given the history, I wonder if App St would move to #1 if they moved to CUSA.

Western is our only true rival. We developed a decent rivalry with UNT in the early Sun Belt days and we've had some thrillers with FAU.

The Marshall game should develop into a good one, our win in Huntington in 2016 will go s long way towards that.

Right Now:
1. Western
2. Western
3. Marshall

In the years to come:
1. Western
2. Marshall
3. UAB
(Like ODU, too if they ever are required to play us in FB again)

We have the most history with USM. Hopefully we have more division championship games with them in the future. I see we're scheduled to play them on rivalry weekend again. Something may be developing with UTSA. I'd say it's between those two but we'll know better in a couple more years.

Marshall has no rival currently in CUSA. The closest thing to a rival we ever had in CUSA was ECU and UCF. Outside of CUSA, it would be Ohio

Cincy....oh wait.

I would say for us it would be RICE and or UTSA. It's not the same kind of rivalry we have with UNM or NMSU. In that we hate those teams and never want to lose to them. It's a friendly rivalry at this point.

Our historical rivals are now residing in other conferences. We are treading water at present.

Remind me again who's in the conference we've fallen to.

Eat UTSA and Southern Miss

I'd love for it to be UNCC! Unfortunately we are 1-0 in football and soon to be 4-0 in our last 4 in basketball. Oh well. Maybe we'll get lucky and lose tonight.
