So THAT is what you are going with? 03-lmfao Why don't you head back to the kids table.

Normal people understand what is going on. This administration calling it something else doesn't change that fact.

For as long as I can remember, dems have this habit of labeling their bills the exact opposite of what they will do.

Soooo, let’s increase pork spending and raise taxes on folks during a recession and what? Hope for the best?!?

Good luck on that one.

Recession? What recession? Okay, here's another prediction. There will be no recession while Biden is President. This reminds of 2015 or so when Republicans tried to convince everyone we were in a recession and it all turned out to be a mirage. Or when they tried to convince everyone we were on the verge of bankruptcy back in 2012 or so and was so convincing they even got our debt rating downgraded for the first time in history. But of course that all turned out to be a mirage as well. So much so that every piece of the token deficit reduction bill that was passed back then was later taken back.

People are calling it a recession because it is a recession. Two quarters of negative GDP is a recession. It's the standard that's been used by these same phony media types for decades.

It's only a recession once the geekiest of economists come back months later and "officially" labels it as such using all their geeky statistics. There is virtually no chance the period we're in now will ever be labeled a recession officially and it's becoming increasingly likely it will remain this was at least to the end of the year. It's basically 50/50 next year and that's only because of the past history of the fed overshooting interest rates in this kind of situation, not anything to do with the actual health of the economy, which is holding up extremely well at this point in time. That's just the reality of the situation. So anyone who screams "recession!" at this point is basically a screaming idiot.

This has to be a troll. There is no way you could possibly be this stupid.

He of course is a troll. His only purpose in posting is to keep other posters - - those who actually care about what is best for our nation - - off balance and to cause them take their eye off the ball.

Sadly for scorpius, and for the several other since-disappeared posters from this forum, it no longer is enough to obstruct the conversation. Why? Because the agenda on the left is failing even without any coherent opposition from the right. Even Donald Trump looks intelligent compared to what is being said and done by the left.

Progressive Democrats have been shown to be exactly as ignorant, grasping and underhanded as those on the right have been saying all along. All that the left has at its rhetorical disposal are lies. Scorpius is simply one of the few who seems to enjoy the experience of being repeatedly shown up as dishonest and wrong.

He is Leon Trotsky reincarnated. Advocates chaos all in the best interest the rest of us Comrades!!! I do wonder what really happened to Trotsky?

Everything that's not bolded is just whistling past the graveyard.

The bolded section, however, might actually be correct, because that label is death for the party in charge. They will continue to do anything they can to apply Orwellian euphemisms/double-speak, or what have you in their desperate attempt not to get obliterated this fall. The Inflation Reduction Act is a fantastic example: "Hey, there's no recession, but if there is, this will totally fix it." (and of course it absolutely will not)

Watching people like yourself deny reality makes you look so bad. Hilarious that every Dem is willing to die on this hill instead of acknowledging reality and get ahead of the messaging.

In Defining recession, Dems turn to fuzzy math and gaslighting

From The Hill:

Quote:Democrats and their media allies have become adept at euphemism; it’s central to their messaging. It’s not a crisis at the border, it’s a “challenge.” Antifa is not an organization; it’s “an idea.” It’s not an unborn baby or even a fetus. It’s the “products of conception.” Riots aren’t riots. They’re “mostly peaceful protests.” Infrastructure spending is not about improving roads and bridges. Infrastructure includes child care and paid leave.

And now, with inflation approaching 10 percent, we have the Inflation Reduction Act.

There are things Democrats can do to reduce inflation, such as cutting spending. But, instead, Democrats want to inject $700 Billion into the economy, which, they claim, will reduce inflation.

As for those who object to more spending amid a recession, the president insists we’re not even in one despite two consecutive quarters of negative growth, sky-high inflation and stagnant wages.

“The Inflation Reduction Act will add another $370 billion in clean-energy tax credits in reconciliation, including incentives to accelerate domestic production of solar panels, wind turbines, batteries, and critical-materials processing. That doesn’t sound like a recession to me,” Biden said last week after news came of the economy contracting by 0.9 percent.

The Inflation Reduction Act would also significantly raise taxes on corporations. In a related story, here’s what Joe Biden’s old boss had to say as president during a recession.

“You don’t raise taxes in a recession,” then-President Obama said in 2010. “The last thing you want to do is to raise taxes in the middle of a recession.”

An old saying is that the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits. With the party in power in Washington, the stupidity seems limitless. And voters are very much onto it: Biden is polling lower than any other first-term president since such polling began. That includes Jimmy Carter. That includes Donald Trump. Both men lasted one term. In recent Quinnipiac University and New York Times polls, Biden sits at 31 and 33 percent approval, respectively.

Fuzzy math is back. Only this time, we’re drowning in debt. We’re spending what we don’t have. The result is sky-high prices for everything from food and gas to lumber. Any sensible leader would put the brakes on spending while acknowledging that the economy is indeed in a recession.

But not these leaders, who believe fuzzy math and governing by gaslighting is a successful strategy.

Shocker: The 'Experts' Who Declare Recessions are Democrat Megadonors

Quote:Of course, the NBER board leaders and Business Cycle Dating Committee members are free to make contributions to anyone they like, but the one-sided financial support by a majority of the members show an underlying lack of intellectual diversity among the group. What's more, the direct contributions to Biden in 2020 from some of those responsible for declaring the U.S. economy in a recession on his watch sets up a unique conflict of interest of which Americans being told "there is no recession" ought to be aware. The committee is not an entirely independent body if its members have a financial stake in supporting one party's future and previously supported the officeholder(s) who stand to suffer politically depending on whether a recession is or is not declared.
