RE: The carrousel is beginning to turn.
I heard Bob Debesse got turned around heading to the locker room in West Point. Last I heard he was heading north through the woods towards Canada. Let’s hope he’s keeping the North Star in front of him!

Miracle on Ice? Most sports fans know what that is. Minneapolis Miracle? If you follow the NFL, you know. Miracle on the Mountain? *crickets*
well, all you gotta do is use your preferred search engine, and search for "Miracle on the Mountain football" and it's the very FIRST thing that pops up. Also instead of "football" you can add terms such as "app state" or "furman" or "billy napier" or a whole host of other terms and it's quite literally the entire 1st page of results.
*crickets* are for fishing. Just because it offends you doesn't make it any less true or "less familiar" to people who have followed CFB for decades.
EDIT: Also, don't you live in Lafayette? If so, I'm sure you've watched KATC Channel 3, Acadiana's NewsChannel out of Acadia? Two years ago they did a feature story on this game.
Napier reflects on "Miracle on the Mountain" 16 years later
I’m aware of how a search engine works genius. I’m just amused that you guys think that college football fans care about what’s going on in the FCS. Unless you pull an upset against a P5 or have a run of dominance at that level, like NDSU lately, no one cares. So coining some term for an unknown occurrence in an FCS game is amusing to me. Celebrity in y’alls own mind?
“Crickets” is a common term used whenever someone says something and gets zero reaction. Welcome to 21st century lingo buddy.
And no I don’t watch KATC (cut the cord years ago) or read the local papers all that much. Get my UL sports info from press conferences, recaps/stories released by the SID, and from those close to the program. By the time things make it to the papers or outlets like KATC, it’s old news.
You watched it, right?

Agree with Freeze out there Chadwell / Napier are options two or higher. I think if he does this next year he gets got. He has that QB for years so no way he does not get hired away within two years. Liberty does have a crap ton of money but I think the lure of the SEC and redemption will be way to much to hold off. Liberty will come after Chadwell if freeze gets taken which would be funny.

As someone whose team has gotten coaches gone 2x in as many years, if he finds himself on top of their wish list, he’s gone. It’s really that simple.
His goals at ULL don’t matter when they will quadruple or quintuple his salary overnight. Spare yourself the delusion. If they want him, he’s gone and there’s nothing ULL can do about it.
I would have thought after the last 2 years where Napier has turned down SEC jobs and all the quadruple salary, we would not be using this reason anymore, but here it is again.
We have said for a few years that money will not be the reason for coach Napier, and he has a short list of places he wanted to go, as it turns out he has turned down several jobs in the past.
That being said, Louisiana fans know this is a job Napier COULD BE interested in. The difference for me is the AD position. Napier is big on who he works for, and from my little digging the USC fans dont feel their current AD is on a list of top level AD's, to be nice. that maybe the only thing to stop Napier from taking this job IF offered.
are there any credible reports that Napier actually turned down SEC HC jobs? Not UL fans claiming it but actual sources.
I mean there were plenty of App fans who claimed SS would turn down ACC schools for love of his alma mater
I can’t believe how many App people though SS would stay. I was arguing with fans that were like “but he LOVES Boone!!!”
Louisville pays him enough that he can buy Boone. And good for him, I knew he was going and he absolutely should have.
When Chadwell or Napier get the call and USC offers them enough money to put their great great grandchildren through college, they will go. There’s no loyalty in college football. If either had 1-2 losing seasons, fans would want them fired. Go get get your bag Chadwell!
I said the same thing and had the same arguments with App fans lol. He went to Louisville a mid-tier P5. Chadwell and Napier are next then I think the rest of us maybe stuck with the coaches we have for awhile lol. Nobody outside of them seems very good more likely to be fired than hired away.

Rumor is Napier asked for 4.5-5 mill year USC countered with 2.5-3 so Napier's agent told them to kick rocks

He’s currently making $880k at UL@L. $3mil would be a nice jump in pay, but it also to coach at USCjr where coaching careers go to die. 8-4 at Vandy gets you a legacy job, 8-4 at USC gets you more years at USC. They were paying Muschamp $3.3mil, but he was a joke at Florida, and I’m not sure why USC thought he would be any better there. Napier has at least proven he can coach a team into winning games.

Hiring Will Muschamp after Spurrier retired was a bonehead move. There were some good options out there and South Carolina blew it. Will Muschamp's ceiling is being a DC.

If I remember correctly, it was very late in the game and all the big name coaches were scooped up. All that was left was Muschamp and Tom Herman. And you know USCe wasn't going to get Herman.

Muschamp was at 4.6 mill a year so why take less money to clean up your predecessors mess.
He will make 1.2 mill a year at UL and name his price with all the openings at the end of 2021

if memory serves me Drink maybe getting around 3.5 mil this year. still sets a floor for any new coach that follows from the sun belt in particular.

What's wild is that it's nearly $1,000,000 more than Satterfield himself. That's crazy.

No. You are wrong. 880K is the base salary from school. When you add in RCAF salary it is 1.25 million. And the last time he had a pay increase he passed it down to his staff.
But what else can you expect from someone who is lame enough to use the “@“ to name us.

No. You are wrong. 880K is the base salary from school. When you add in RCAF salary it is 1.25 million. And the last time he had a pay increase he passed it down to his staff.
But what else can you expect from someone who is lame enough to use the “@“ to name us.
Honest question - USA Today has Napier's base salary listed as $1,005,000. Obviously, it doesn't include bonuses or any other additions. Is that base pay accurate? If so, that's a sizable amount more than the next highest paid in the Sun Belt.

Rumor from a USC fan Napier wants 4.5- 5 mill a year USC is only wanted to pay 3 mill so Napier's agent told them to kick rocks

So you tell me I’m wrong and then say he is making $880k......also, he does work for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. So nothing I said was wrong, but I wouldn’t expect anything else from you.
