President Rowe was the guest speaker at our recent Tribe Club board meeting and I can tell you, YES-she has real interest in the football program and all of our sports programs. I imagine she will be out there for the coin toss for every game. She and her husband have already been to many sporting events, even separately so as to spread the support around.

She is competitive, she wants to win, and she sees sports as a way to elevate the college on a national level. She talked about UMBC's NCAA appearance and the big lift it had for the school. She truly sees the tremendous value that a MBB NCAA appearance will have for W&M.

I sat between Samantha Huge and President Rowe at the meeting. I have always thought of myself as competitive. I'm not sure I can hold a candle to either one of these ladies. We are in good hands.

This maybe the most encouraging post that i have read on this board so far, and I'm really jacked up by the early reports from mbb practices.

I am delighted that my concerns about Pres. Rowe's attitudes toward the importance of athletics in coming from all female institutions such as Smith and Bryn Mawr and having academic roots in Shakespeare and Medieval and Renaissance drama seem to be groundless.

She is obviously a great choice for the academic side of W&M and it is encouraging to see that her interests and competitive nature extend beyond the class room into other areas that have always made W&M a well rounded university and a unique environment.

I guess this fills the vacancy
