Doesn't mean that McGrath didn't enter his first season as HC with a series of challenges, experienced before and during the season:
1) Unrealistic expectations left over from Keatts
2) Graduation of Flemmings, Ingram, Mosely, and Chuck
3) The transfer of Bryce
4) The arrival, and sudden departure, of Sallah
5) The injury of Elmore
6) The removal of Richmond from the program
We were told by the likes of you to ignore all of these things, because they're just excuses, that this team really was a lot more talented than the record indicated, and that coaching was by far the biggest problem.
We were also told that there were zero positives and little reason to hope, and that we all were just waving the pom poms. Which was utterly ridiculous to say.
It's nice that everyone seems to be on board now and has found reasons to praise the coaching staff. And yeah, I know I was one of those that was ready to throw in the towel on the current season, so I'm certainly among the crowd that was frustrated. But people were entirely too quick to judge this coaching staff based on pre-conceived notions, and it was worth CG's time to point that out so that maybe if we have a couple more rough patches this season, people won't return to that level of dreariness again.
