RE: Stony Brook
Burned Kleinrichert's redshirt tonight.

Offense left 3-7 points on the board and mishandled/poor snap caused us a good shot at 3 points. A few dropped balls but some great catches, too. Uncharacteristic penalties for the Tribe tonight.

Caskin is having a phenomenal game and our ground attack is beautiful.

Nice timely pick so let's eat the clock and get outta here.

MAS is sitting on the side and looks dejected. He injured or something?

Looked like he tweaked his ankle at some point. Did come back into the game after that though so who knows.

Impressive win considering we didn't play as well as I think we can. We have some studs running the ball. D-line showed up tonight.

RE: Stony Brook
MAS was limping pretty hard. But let's talk about only 167 yards for SB. That's an amazing defense

Kleinrichert is a redshirt freshmen. Nothing to burn.

Claytor with--by far--his best game in a Tribe uniform.

Tribe, despite some missed opportunities, manhandled SBU tonight.

Rushing yards
301-64

Total yards
466-167

First downs
25-9

We had 23 more plays.

Great win!

Hope Reeves gets back soon. Same for MAS. Would be nice to see Fetters back next week. Great to see Harvey on the field. Did not see Gryder much in second half and sounded like Stephens had an injury as well. Hope both are ok.

RE: Stony Brook
MAS was definitely his ankle. Coach Laycock said in the postgame that Anderson was doing so well and we were up so we didn't push the issue with MAS. I suspect if he needed to go, he would have been on the field. Reeves looked like concussion to me. He lowered his head into the hit and it seemed like they took his helmet on the sideline.

Great game all around. SB doesn't have any kind of deep passing game, but we did a great job of taking away whatever they did try.

This was the most impressive all around game I can remember from the Tribe against a team that mattered in quite a while.

Look at the rest of the league, I think we have an opportunity to make a real impact this year. JMU looms damned good, everyone else is very beatable.

MAS & Anderson, at 200+ lbs are more than ready to pound the ball.

Genius

If it's windy that could cause problems with Cluley's deep ball accuracy. His underneath accuracy through two games has been better.

If W&M could pound the rock against UVA they should be able to do that against Stony Brook.

Another smart person.

RE: Stony Brook
If you haven't already, great watching the excitement between Claytor and Anderson at the end of the postgame video. A lot of tough games to play, but this may be a very special year.

Great being back at Zable tonight and sitting under the shadow of that future expansion....Need to scrap the lame music prior to the team entry, as well as, got to redo the opening video...Are you kidding me to start that vid with Alma Mater....Not exactly the way to get a crowd revved up to start a game....We're bound to be able to get a recurring pre-game theme song, ala Tech and Sandman, that gets all ages off their feet for the entry....C'mon guys/gals!!!!

Game replay starting on CSN right now for anyone still up and interested.

BTW, after JMU, the remainder of the CAA schedule for Stony Brook is Towson, Maine, Elon, Rhode Island and Albany. SBU finishes with no more than 2 league losses max.

Agree on the excitement on the team. The team appears to be very, very confident this year, but not in a cocky way. I think the most exciting part was that tonight was no tricks, we just beat them man on man. So, in the last 2 games we have seen a staff willing to call anything to give the team a chance and a team ready to play super hard and together no matter what the call.

As for Stony Brook, we will see how they do against JMU, but they should have a much easier time after next week. With the 11 game schedule, all the teams are shooting for 6-2 or better in the league to get a playoff invite. JMU is now 4-0 and has an extra game to play with in the league while Nova has to go 7-1 to get to 8-3. NH's schedule is still unbelievably easy as well. Tonight was the first of a big 3 game test for us. On to Delaware now and then Villanova. If we can play well in each, we will return home with 3 huge games at Zable.

Finally, Tribal may be Nostradamus for us. I hope so since he predicted 14 wins for us before the season began.

RE: Stony Brook
Solid, solid, even overwhelming defensively, win.

Claytor a beast on defense tonight; SBU couldn't control him, We're out two starting linebackers but you'd never know it tonight.

Cluley playing with confidence...extra ten upper-body pounds has helped both his arm and running power. Caskin developing into a big offensive asset...has great hands and strength. Nice to see tight end back in the offense too.

Offensive line blocking was awesome; these guys a meshing into one of the CAA's best.

And Anderson? What can I add?
