Exactly!!! But the front runners are Cincinnati and Memphis. Memphis seems to have turned around their football and they are always solid in basketball.
The frontrunners to replace Cincinnati and Memphis in the AAC would then be Marshall and UTSA.
The frontrunners to replace those two in CUSA (if they're replaced at all) could get interesting. I'd bet on Texas State (to replace UTSA in the West), and Georgia Southern (to to replace Marshall in the East and gain a presence in Georgia). Ark St could be a dark horse to replace Marshall, but we all know that they'd refuse the invitation. UL-L will once again find itself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unless, of course, CUSA goes ahead and expands to 16............

I doubt if anyone in a decision making position considers Cincinnati or Memphis to be viable front runners.

I think you are the only one thinking that the front runners are cincinnati and memphis. 25,000 at their game this year. now that will get the attention of the B12 for sure..basketball does not drive the bus in the B12 so those two schools are just not that attractive to them.

Cincinnati and BYU are the only ones that I think have a ghost of a chance of joining the Big 12. The only Texas school capable of joining the Big 12 would be Texas A&M if they decided to come back which won't happen. There are just to many Texas teams as it is.
Big 12 really screwed up by not taking Louisville when they had the chance. They were the last "no brainer" school left on board. Now I guess its only BYU, but they come with baggage attached so who knows.
