haven't seen the presser and don't plan on watching it.

but there's no way it was more uncomfortable than the ross bee-york (former western a.d.) press conference announcing we were doing a 'reset' with ken mcdummy mcdonald as head basketball coach.

that fiasco made jerry sandusky squirm.

RE: Texas st presser made me sick.
Sun Belt fans It's nothing to due with the Belt and it's all because of UTSA the Bobcats Rival passing them by.. { how they see it}

It's a Texas thing and I know the Bobcats believe UTSA will not play them now... I understand how BobCats feel, and it has nothing to due with the Sun Belt..

But there some fans who are happy and thankful they have a spot... Best of luck to you all...

Once the dust settles and everyone calms down you'll find those fans will become less douchey. We're very amicable and if you ever make it down to a game in san marcos we like dink beer, grill, and shoot the breeze with opposing fans.

RE: Texas st presser made me sick.
I was worried at first, but after sleeping on it I am quite happy with the move to the belt. I honestly don't believe that Conference USA will be widely considered much better if at all than the Sunbelt very soon. Will be hard to tell the difference between the two conferences very soon as they really aren't much better (if at all).

You obviously meant INSANITY

Ready to compete from day one in football

Let's be honest here, football is the big driver at Texas State and most universities. No offense to baseball, basketball, soccer or any other sport but Bobcat nation wants their football team to win more than any other sport and being in the Sun Belt allows for that to happen quickly.

Arkansas State with new head coach Gus Malzahn at the helm went 10-3 including 8-0 in conference last season. Western Kentucky finished 7-1 in the Sun Belt, Louisiana-Lafayette went 6-2. Outside of that, the Sun Belt lacks any team that went .500 in conference let alone win more than four games in 2011. If you want Texas State to win sooner rather than later, the Sun Belt is the answer. If you want Texas State to play in a bowl game sooner rather than later, again...the Sun Belt is the answer."

The least team in the SunBelt (excluding USA & Ga St) is years ahead of anything you guys can imagine.

It may be 2 or more YEARS before you get your first conference win.

Not a chance in the world of being competitive "from day one".

You guys are as completely delusional as LaTech fans.

Senatobia is as negative and delusional as the Texas State posters who are doom and gloom. It won't be easy or immediate but Texas St. will become a competitive FBS team down the road.

The truth is that CUSA is not anywhere near as good as some of you seem to believe and the Sun Belt is a lot better than perceived.

A conference with Rice, UAB, Tulane, LT, UTEP, ODU, Charlotte, Marshall, UNT, FIU and UTSA is not THAT impressive. I would expect Arkansas State to beat every single one of those teams in Jonesboro (especially the ones that don't have a team yet).

I think we'd beat all those teams at their places too.

Interesting that South hosts UTSA this year for our opener, and will open at Tulane next year.

I understand where you are coming from, and you may end up being right for all I know. However this year was our first full FBS class which was tops in the WAC and would have been probably number 2 or 3 in Sunbelt especially with FIU gone. While most of those players will be red-shirt freshmen or sophomores, we did go the juco route to add depth at several positions. Also 2012 will be our second year of transition, we will be a full FBS program by the time we join the SBC. While I don't expect us to win the Sunbelt, I seriously doubt we will go winless.

Cut that to 5 years, for our part we'll take out ECU in Sept, and Michigan again in 2014.

Lets get this done.

I actually feel sorry for you right now. Yosef is walking into a Bloodbath in September, you just have no idea. Our coach actually played for ECU against App back in the day. He knows exactly how far we've come since then and I expect him to prove it.

Gus is starting out pretty well for a first time head coach.
