RE: Texas st presser made me sick.
Alot of our fans have been calling our AD's head for years. Even when we get the invite to the WAC, it wasn't because of anything he did, it was inspite of him. Now with UTSA going to CUSA he has people calling for his head, because it must be because of him that Texas State is not going to CUSA. And alot of Texas State fans are wrongly still bothered by the old Sun Belt image, that it is a crappy conference.

However, that is not all of our fans, there are alot of fans that are knowledgeable about the Sun Belt, and are very happy to be apart of it. There where certainly alot of fans that would have preferred the Sun Belt to the WAC before realignment destroyed the WAC..... Don't let the uneducated minority influence your feels about Texas State fans as a whole....

A good stable conference that's not going to implode.

Just wait until you hear Sam Baker of Georgia Southern. He is full retard. Never go full retard.

This is the truth, expecially about pressers being akward. Even the presser to annouce Dennis Franchione as our HC was an apology fest....

There is vocal part of our fans that despise everything that he does. In there minds we got the WAC invite a year and a half ago inspite of him. In their minds, had we not had him as our AD, we probably would be in the SEC already. When we hired Dennis Franchione as our HC, even though we brought in a big name search firm, Franchione was only hired because he is "friends" with our AD. Now with UTSA going to CUSA, in their minds, the only reason we didn't get into CUSA must be because of him....

RE: Texas st presser made me sick.
I can understand Tex St's unhappiness at not following UTSA to CUSA. But like people have said....that invite didn't come, and until the SBC invite came, you guys were on a sinking ship.

Relax and enjoy the ride. Conference moves will happen again.

There was some chatter on bobcatreport about the Sun Belt being a good fit a couple of months ago, even then I thought it made the most sense. Personally, I like the geographic footprint. And please for the love of everything holy don't let the uneducated minority influence you guys.

Most Texas State fans, are very happy to be in the Sun Belt. There is a small group that would rather be in the Sun Belt than in the current CUSA. Myself included.

But, there is a very vocal section of our fan base, that thinks that everything positive that happens for Texas State is inspite of our AD, and that thinks that if we only had a good AD, even better things would have happened.

Cut that to 5 years, for our part we'll take out ECU in Sept, and Michigan again in 2014.

Lets get this done.

Good luck with that. I'm going to enjoy what's going to happen in September.

OK UTSA-East bring it on. Hope your knuckle dragging fans can drag themselves up from the swamps to see our new type offense. Expect there to be a big ESPN special that night on the new way to play football. Hope your football coach doesn't just pull your players off the field in the third quarter and give up in frustration.

The apologetic presser, which unfortunately for our AD is the norm. Had nothing to do with being upset about being in the Sun Belt. It was a I am doing everything that I can do. I invited CUSA to come, ect. But, because of the media market, they where not interested in us, and no different AD could have done a better job.

Most Bobcat fans, now fully understand that the WAC is dead, and that the Sun Belt is much better than no conference and are happy to be in the Sun Belt. Being unhappy with being in the SunBelt is not the issue, the issue is to many fans are unhappy with the AD.

When is the last time you've won the Southland ?

Not saying that Texas State will be competing for the Sun Belt championship in a year or two, because we won't. The first few years will be VERY ugly. But, Texas State for the first time in forever, is actually putting money towards our Athletics Programs. And has gone out and hired real coaches....

It will be a long hard process, but the Texas State athletics department now adays actually cares about winning. Which for the longest time was not the case.

RE: Texas st presser made me sick.
Texas State was fortunate to catch a ferry that was taking them from Purgatory (Southland Conference) to what they envisioned as the "land of opportunity" (WAC) The ferry sank and the Coast Guard (Sun Belt) came to your rescue and tossed you a life ring. You didn't go down, so be thankful that you were rescued. The alternative really sucks.
