INTEGRITY. Yes. Something we haven't seen since Dec. 5th. Glad he's sticking with the Badgers thru the Rose Bowl.
Wow. I didn't know this was possible. Stay on until after the bowl game. A lot of people said that is not how college football works. This is the way it should work all the time!
I bet you won't be saying that once our recruiting class looks like crap in February.
Great hire by NIU. Excited to see what he can do with this current roster, but also excited to see what kind of talent he can bring to DeKalb in the next few years.
Does the 18 days from Kills announcement to our bowl game make that much of a difference?
DEc 20 through Jan 3 is a recruiting dead period

Solid hire, no complaints here.
I like that he was the recruiting coordinator at Wisconsin. That team is not short on talent, that's for sure.

It's a really intense recruiting period. Lots of official visits some in early December. High school seasons are finally over and there's some time to make a decision. Then the blackout starts next week and extends through the New Year. It doesn't have to be that big a deal, but the NCAA would have to wiggle around their dates. If you don't let anyone recruit during December, suddenly, there's no reason for the coach to pull up stakes like Kill did.

Now you can wear the same shirt to both Comi-Con and the Huskie games.

He has never been a head coach at any level? Let's wait and see what he can do. Best wishes to him and the team next year.

Yeah I posted somewhere in this thread about the comments. Apparently people in Wisconsin refer to use as either UNI or just NI. I think it's about time we start marketing "NIU".

Why would we want to make it obvious to the college football world that we're out numbered in our "home" stadium?
I say we should wear red.

Maybe wear red shirts with a white W for WIN to really confuse people.
Wear the black and wear it proud, being out numbered is nothing new for NIU.

I'm fine with wearing red. NIU needs to get an aerial photo of Soldier Field full of red and use it as if there were 61,000 NIU fans in attendance.

How about we just wear what we want? I look good in black, but I know some ppl look good in red.
Either way, you're not gonna get everyone to wear the same color, so as long as we get most ppl to wear NIU gear, we should be good.

I am hoping that we haven't lost a step, but I just know how this board is. The same ppl saying it's okay for Doeren to stay at Wis till Rose Bowl will be the same one talking crap about our recruiting class.
I can understand the point here. Still think he should stay for the Rose Bowl. Of course, in the first 10 minutes of next year's first game, people will already be questioning the playcalling, so it's going to happen no matter what.

Will be nice to get more pressure on the quarterback. Will be interesting to see who he hire as assistants, probably going to see a few guys with NIU ties, considering he's not a head coach currently, it's not like he has his own staff to bring over. Offensive coordinator will be pretty important, like I said in the other thread, I also am on the Hammock bandwagon. The guy has proven he can do the job at Minnesota.
Home at last!
