RE: Predict week 1's AAC scores
Vand (sec)erbilt, BYU, & Baylor will win.
If SMU could somehow beat Baylor, the bears will hate the AAC even more

Not an AAC fan but I'll add my input.
peay was winless in the fcs but go 21-14 with memphis???
wcu was pretty bad aswell but get usf to 31-28
you didnt need to tell us you werent an aac fan we could have told by the scores
i have a hard time seeing vandy win by that much, they hvent lost by that kind of margin since pj took over at qb..

RE: Predict week 1's AAC scores
Just from a pick perspective:
Tulane @ Tulsa (Tulsa starts strong in the AAC)
Temple @ Vandy (Vandy's been decimated and Temple is ready)
BYU @ UConn (UConn is much better than last year)
UTSA @ Houston (Easy win)
UCF vs Penn State (UCF knows they can beat the "big boys")
Austin Peay @ Memphis (A good start for Memphis)
Western Carolina @ USF (A good win for Taggert)
N. Carolina Central @ ECU (No problem)
SMU @ Baylor (The only AAC loss)
+ 2 weeks later Toledo @ Cincy (UC might put up 49 on the Rockets)

Shocking that the UL fan is going against UCF.

RE: Predict week 1's AAC scores
I think Temple has a good shot against Vandy. Vandy has some good players especially on defense, but they don't have a QB. They also have a completely new coaching staff and system. I think they will run the ball a lot and play good defense, but they won't score a lot of points.

I went and looked at their roster. Unless they got some transfer I don't know about, they have zero upperclassmen at cornerback, and one upperclassmen at safety who has started a game.
We may not have Robby Anderson any longer, but PJ Walker is going to throw and throw on their inexperienced secondary.

Hope the O-Line gives your QB plenty of time in the pocket... Reason why I chose Temple to come out victorious on this game is due to y'alls awesome QB... My .02

Good point. I brought of defense because their coach was the defensive coordinator for Stanford last year.
As it has been mentioned, your QB is the main reason I think you could win.

This is correct, they are very inexperienced in the secondary, i saw an SEC preview featuring Vandy and their main concerns were losing their play-makers on offense, the inexperienced secondary, and switching defensive schemes from a 4-3 to a 3-4. Add in the new coaching staff and if Temple can play decent defense and the O-line can give PJ some time to throw this will be as good a chance as any for Temple to pull an upset. It will still be a tall order but the Owls do have a punchers chance.

i have uconn scoring 24 on byu an extremely good defense (texas, utah state, Georgia tech, notre damn, utah and virgina couldnt do last year , and wisconsin barely got 27)
and byu is projectd a very great team, your acting like i said uconn was losing to towson.
byu is working with a experienced qb, in an established system and took down some powers last year, uconn has a qb with only 4 games starting experience, learning a brand new system, under a brand new coach on his first ever game.
your response shocks me, as if calling uconn losing to byu is some kind of jab of uconn..maybe im saying byu is good? the score i have above is less a blowout than they gave texas and boise last year...and lets not pretend like uconn is some power either. no one is saying uconn will suck for eternity
but more power too you if you feel that way
Perhaps that last bit was an overexaggeration on my part. I don't take kindly to the potshots leveled at UCONN.
UCONN's not losing to BYU. It's just not happening. I can't say it any plainer than that.
Put a $1000 bucks on this. If your right you'll have a nice tidy profit!

Someone picking your team to lose a game where they will be underdogs is not a potshot.... it's a pick.

UCONN's not losing to BYU. It's just not happening.
I root for UConn.
I've lived here my whole life, my daughter goes to UConn.
That being said, UConn is NOT BEATING BYU. Sorry, but I don't think they get to 20 points. BYU is an OLDER TEAM (most of their players are 21-23, some are even 24) because they send them on two year sabbaticals and come back fully grown. It's one reason the Big12 didn't want them. UConn is young, with a green coach and a green QB. They struggled to score points last year. With a brand new system in place, and a QB that has 4 starts under his belt, UConn will lose, my prediction is
UConn 17
BYU 41.
We'll see the last weekend in August who's right about this one. But I don't see UConn beating BYU. Period. End of discussion.

Temple does have a chance to pull the upset, but if it's close late our kicking game is still unproven.
