Folks are going to be throwing money at Yax like they were Zeno. That said, I think we will get him a little and he will stay like Zeno. The X factor is if Andy has had enough and is on the next train out of town. Then we get gutted like a trout.

Memphis is going down. We will get a chance to avenge our loss against WSU. We got a gift, can we take advantage.

RE: Madness begins today.
Perfect situation to see what this team is made of.

Will they take this game off? Will they blow off Wichita again, and think they can win by playing hard for 15ish minutes? Or will they show up with fire and avenge the L we took a couple of weeks ago?

Neither scenario will surprise me, but it will say a lot about AK by how his team shows up tomorrow.

I agree. We got a gift. We HAVE to take advantage.

They seem to have played better against the better teams in the league. Memphis should take care of business but also wouldn't be surprised if Wichita played a great ballgame and maybe even got them.

Hmmmm….

It wasn’t a gift. Wichita is good. They have a bigtime guard and a heck of a tough defensive center. Forget their record. They are going to be a tough out.

Hopefully this took some energy out of their legs though

Well, one way to look at it, it might be a blessing in disguise that Wichita beat us a couple weeks ago. Should (hopefully) prevent us from overlooking them again.

Don't delude yourself. Memphis is the most talented team in the AAC. They have a mediocre coach, and play as 5 selfish individuals, but they just beat us by 41 points in a 21 minute span.

You undoubtedly, unreservedly, everyday of the week and twice on Sunday, want to play Wichita State over Memphis.

I DID NOT say that Wichita would be an easy out. They're a good team. They beat us. We have problems simply showing up to some games, and an AK led team just got molly whopped last year IN THE CUSA Championship with everything on the line, when the team barely bothered to show up. Nothing would surprise me tomorrow. It's by far a gimme, but it's a hell of a lot better than playing Memphis.

There's no "honor" by playing the better team, or your "rival." It's March. It's win or go home.

You take every break you can get.

We got the double bye. And we got an easier matchup by virtue of the upset today.

No one's expecting a blow out, and it will be a tough game, but how the team shows up tomorrow will say so much about AK as a coach and this group of players. I expect we will come to play, but nothing would really surprise me.

That team, FAU, ended up in THE FINAL FOUR! They were much better than UAB.

That's revisionist history. You're letting AK and last year's team off the hook by trying to claim that FAU was so much better than us.

We should've beaten them at their place, but lost down the stretch due to tripping over our own two feet and terrible, sloppy mistakes.

We beat them solidly by double digits at our place.

We were favored by the sports books in the championship game.

I'm not saying FAU wasn't better than us, but we did not show up for the game. You could tell by our body language in the first couple of minutes.

It wasn't David vs. Goliath. It was two very evenly matched teams (one could make an argument WE were better per above), and they simply wanted it more than us.

Memphis should have won the game. But it wasn't surprising they didn't.
UAB should win the game tomorrow. But it wouldn't be surprising if they didn't.

Memphis and UAB are very similar teams (Memphis is a more talented but less disciplined version with a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses).

I expected the Tigers to pull it out after they got down 13. Kind of game Wichita has struggled to close out. But in the last two weeks they have held on to beat UAB and Memphis after allowing comebacks. They're putting it together.

Need Yax and JD to show up big in this one. And somebody please guard Rogers this time. If JD and Yax can stay out of foul trouble, I wouldn't mind trying Coleman on him some just to make him face some length.

100.

We blew our load against UNT, and played that game like it was the championship game.
