You can't just be a good head coach anymore, it takes more.

You’ve got to be a businessman/salesman/promoter AND an NIL pool because you have to constantly 24/7 re-recruit/retain your roster on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. It’s literally free agency every couple months.

The days of Randy Moss, Brett Favre, DeMarcus Ware, Jamie Collins, Charles Tillman, etc. are done. you will never see these types of players at smaller schools anymore, unless you’ve got a huge NIL pool to compete with the P5.

Frank Gore Jr. was the only exception I can think of because he was already rich as hell and didn’t necessarily need a lot of money. he got offered bags of money every six months, but turned them down because he’s already got bags of money from his family/dad.

Let’s be real here: it was definitely the atmosphere. Both in terms of fan support and obviously the Player situation. I really don’t think a larger amount of money would change an institutional situation like that.

Regarding the atmosphere, what would he really be expecting? He went from coaching in Williams Brice to Turner Field. Georgia State would have to be in the college football playoffs for at least 3 years straight for Atlanta to buy in. Any logical person takes that job for the opportunity and the accessibility to fertile recruiting grounds. Not for the atmosphere. If that bothers you, why would you take that job?

Hmm. Not what I expected to see when taking an online break today. I guess I'll go back to work before anything else happens...

They have POTENTIAL, yes but in reality when you don’t win or even worse **** the bed the other half of the season in the fashion that you did you squander that. Atlanta seems like a super fair weather spot this side of the Mississippi on top of the fact that you have the falcons, hawks and braves in the city on top of the UGA fan base. And this is not even mentioning Georgia Tech ks also in Atlanta so as much as it seems on the surface that it has potential unless Atlanta really decides to throw some money at the school for NIL, or even directly paying players and coaches, then that program is basically dead in the water for far as I’m concerned.

We’re a ******* football conference and the school can’t even the decency to have a quarter filled stadium for a 50k school, you can’t sell that to players. Some schools get more attendance in the spring games the Georgia state pulls at a home game.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t this is last contracted year anyway? And didn’t he just lose a decent bit of players to the portal? If both of those things are true, or one of those things were true, either way you slice it he was basically going to have to completely rebuild the program which…. leaves us with the FIU of the Sun Belt east.

I think you're able to get much more buy in from the city if you get a guy like Willie Simmons

Add in TY Hilton, DeAngelo Williams, Eric Dickerson, Roddy White, Khalil Mack, Roethlisberger, Corey Davis, Kellen Moore, Derek Carr, Marshall Faulk and Randall Cunningham to boot, etc. But I think everyone gets the picture.

Whoa FIU??

To Georgia State's credit, I have never actually even seen a FIU fan online or social media. Like ever. Extremely weird for a school with a 55k+ enrollment.

Y’all had the same coach for 4 years and are ASS

in fact you’re ASS year round in every other sport. 365 days a year
Coincidentally your football record also keeps this proud tradition of being ass 365 with its historic .365 record.

Everyone on 2+ years is on the hot seat, with the exception of Clark. But he's only another missed bowl appearance away from his seat being very hot again.

Beck and Kinne have very high stock right now. That newbies that we know of all seem to be good hires.

I would ask how "a game" equals 4 losses, but at some point I guess I have to just let the troll show his true colors. Thanks for making it easy.

EDIT: BTW, the funniest part of your last comment is that we can see you edited it and you still chose for it to read like that. 03-lmfao

Also, I can tell you're a "last shot" kinda troll, so please enjoy whatever that clever mind of yours comes up with to roast me one last time! I'll leave it be as I try not to wallow in **** on here...
