This is an all-time, quite impressive Marshall beater from Coach Huff.

It feels like so many of these wounds are self-enforced. I think its pretty clear that fan pressure is what forced Huff to make Coordinator coaches, and it almost feels like he blames the fan base for it by making it sound like players were leaving because of the fans.

Then the band decision was just wild. I get saving money, but that just sounds cheap.

I wouldn't blame him for transferring because of much of what was said.

1...Cam may NOT be on the baords, but the family members that are on there will sure bring it up to him!

2...When you hear 24k people booing everything you do, you can't tell that at least a handful of them are booing the idiot telling you which play to run, yeah there's the keyboard warriors that get on the rooms and make the personal attacks, but the booing has to wear on ya after a while.. Great family, wish him well

Ok so I guess most of y'all have been keeping track, but I'm about to give up on the Herd-based fan board... when it comes to hiring coaches, we want one of two things

1- Someone from the Herd family..Former coaches that have moved on to other schools, former players who are coaching somewhere..

2- Someone like Rich Rod that would just stick it to the school up north...

Can't we actually look at resume's with NO ties to the state and find someone with a good record of doing something with little resources?! Does anyone else's programs stick with this madness?

Grown men booing a college kid. What is the point of all this? Club sports are seeming more appealing all the time.

She’s also a football fanatic. Cassidy loves all sports, but football is at the top of the list. Her family is originally from Fairmont, West Virginia, and Pittsburgh.

Again, I bet she is loving the drama at MU.

Since you have time on your hands instead of hanging on the Herd board maybe you should visit your ECU board , those people make Marshall fans look like amateurs.

Bit amazed it's been 48 hours since that quote has been out there and zero attempt at public damage control from Marshall or Huff.

That statement sounds like it came from Coach Huff himself as his guess what Cam may be thinking. Not saying he's wrong, but he's definitely adding some gas to the fire. He's also created some tension among the remaining players. Marshall should limp through the bowl, buy out his last year and move forward. Damage is done.

Ummm...I know a stAte fan that puts the pig covers Hootens behind the ones with stAte . covers. He goes back and checks things every few days. For you foreign folks Hootens is a preview book for colleges and high schools in Arkansas. They do a pretty good job. They have covers for different colleges. Of course the pigs get the best coverage but some of that can be hidden. Discreetly.

It's disheartening, never not going to support my school financially or otherwise, but I can at least do the little stupid things like unsubscribe from their email list which I've done.

Something has to be done to wake them up.

If more fans at least took the extra step to do something simple like that, which doesn't hurt the school financially, maybe at least catches their attention.

Every coach is about themselves regarding the job, just as we are looking out for own interests first at work.

Most of the time those interests align but when they don't difference is no one is going to message boards complaining, unless you are BOP, he's public eye.

Frankly I have zero problems with a coach saying a player entered the portal because they are miserable. No problem with saying he listened to a few complainers and made him unhappier.

Fans hate a kid?

Man I have a hard damn time believing there's any significant hate for a player in the Marshall fan base, I think Marshall is much like A-State. Biggest game in town, lead story on local TV, radio, and newspapers. Fans tend to adore players and more often than not they think a player is better than he actually is and anything that goes wrong is the stupid coaches. Occ a player will earn fan ire but that's usually over something stupid they said or reacting to the crowd or rare situation just blowing their on-field responsibilities in a big and frequent way.

Just not buying the fans hate him element and even if true, dumb comment that ain't gonna help recruiting.

If Coach Huff had any integrity and ability to "speak honestly and off the cuff" like he's done here, he should have as a leader and an older wiser individual sat down with Cam and let him know "the booing has nothing to do with you it's actually on me and the coaches." But he doesn't have the guts to say what's actually happening.

No one at a game is ever booing the players, it's always the coaching decision, I have no idea why people can't understand and delineate the difference.
