- Bourguet - wants to follow Lester
- Hrabowski - heads to D1AA or DII to get play time.
- Salopek - heads D1AA DII like Hrabowski for play time
- Kneeland - High G5 or P5 opportunity.

If I'm DB I am calling up Carter and Kneeland tonight and offering to create some unique classes for them next year to entice them to stay: the joys of tic-tac-toe, eating paste 301, Doritos engineering, and butt-scratching theory for a solid 12 credits.

But to say Crooms was unhappy and is transferring because of a bad year is silly, and to say it with certainty when he has no idea is even more silly.

You just said that you knew what Crooms was thinking, but we're doing mental gymnastics.

There will always be players that leave when a coach is fired. That's always been the case. Hell, some of these guys might have left if Lester was still here. The portal has changed everything. It's collegiate free agency.

Yes, we will lose players to the portal this year. The new coach will almost assuredly bring in many players from the portal. Roster turnover from year to year is just a thing now. We better get used to it. Miami and Ball State didn't fire their coaches, but their starting QBs just entered the portal. It's chaos. Embrace it, revel in it, or let it tear you apart.

From a pure sporting perspective (not equating this to real life in any way, shape or form!)…this is like dieing a slow sport’s fan death. This is so depressing…I knew this was coming once TL’s firing was announced. Who knows…it may be a good move in the long run but this looks to be tough to stomach in the short term.

This offense wasted Croom's talents...show where I ever spoke to his state of mind? Not going to pretend I know anyone's state of mind. Look at his stats this year compared to Skyy Moore's last year as the featured wide receiver and they pale in comparison. Wasted Talent.

Isn't the job of a coach to maximize the talent of your players? Lester failed in that regard.

Conjecture sure... its a message board. No way Croom's stays regardless... I also never quoted him or indicated I had actual conversations with the kid. No way if I am him and I have his NFL level talent I waste it in Kalamazoo any longer.. regardless of coach. Based on the OL and the QB situation... its tragic.

And if you blame our results on our talent level, who is responsible for our talent level?

I haven’t done the research on this but this kinda reminds of when Lance Leipold left Buffalo after the 2020 season for Kansas. Different circumstances but I think something like 8 - 10 key guys left UB and followed him to Kansas. Buffalo went 4-8 in 2021 and will likely be 6-6 this year (they have 1 game left). 4-8 could be optimistic for us next season but we shall see. Sitting here right now…would you “be happy” with a 4-8 record next year?
