When it came down to it, I thought our style was going to pull off the win from a superior team. But in the end Tricia out-coached Fred. A 13-4 run to end OT is less than ideal.

I'm still hopeful in this stretch that we can make something good happen. Some more favorable games are on the horizon.

Agree and 2 starters fouling out is usually the kiss of death.

BTW, when did EMU WBB start re-issuing #32 again? I thought EMU retired Heady 's number?

Excessive Fouling and turnovers are avoidable. EMU has good players and plays, but teaching individual skills is lacking. No reason for that to be.

At least tell players that before deciding whether to drive to the hoop they should look to see how many defenders are waiting for them, and then give themselves the option to stop and pop, drive to hoop or pass the ball. Such would cut-down offensive charges and called fouls.

They've had a 32 on the roster every year since 2017-18.

What a loss. Previously 1-6 in the MAC Ohio adjusted at half and we simply didn't. Not quite embarrassing but the marage of the non-conference schedule is becoming an ugly reality.

We only had 8 players dress and Nat wasn't 100%. So basically only 7 healthy players. Our bigs just can't get the lays in the basket on the first try. So many misses hard to keep track of. 9% from beyond the arc hurts.05-nono

Women beat CMU 68-56 to go 12-9 and 4-6 in conference. Barely hanging on to the 7th-8th spot for the tourney at this point.

Thoroughly dismantled by the best team in the league. Thought with the way we responded in the 2nd quarter we may pull off something fun, but when it came to making adjustments one team did and the other didn't. No surprise there.

Hope we can get healthy and pick up a few wins in the next few games. It'd be nice to beat WMU as part of the doubleheader Saturday night. Might have to get the family together and head to Ypsi.

At least they are still one game better than the Men’s.

Nat injured again. Down to only 8 players. Their number 14 was just too quick for our bigs to handle. That and we shot only 9% in the first though Ball st didn't do all that much better.07-coffee3

A depleted Western Michigan is exactly what this team needed.

Great 2nd quarter.

Great 2nd quarter.

So currently a 3 way tie for 5th in the MAC. What is their remaining schedule looking like? Hopefully they can keep this up and solidify that seed. They don’t want to play one of the top 3 in the first round.

We've got a tough stretch coming up here. The next four are teams we've lost to and the fifth following is NIU on the road, who we beat in OT.

AT Akron and AT Toledo in the next couple of games could send us to the bottom of the standings real quick. If we can go 2-3 we could be looking at a must-win in Athens to finish the season.

Crunch time for the EMU WBB team as indicated above. Three way tie for 5th with Akron and WMU. EMU plays Akron tonight. The standings are similar to MAC MBB.

EMU could easily finish 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th... As they have to play some of the real tough teams ahead. Eliminating the bottom four teams means EVERY game counts for most teams. It is literally a 'pass/fail' system. Finish 1 - 8 you pass. Teams finishing 9 - 12 fail.

Wish I felt better about a close loss to a team we're even with than I do, but that was abysmal.
HUGE loss.

and Toledo looming Saturday... not an easy bounce-back game.

EMU loses a very competitive game. EMU dressed only 8 and played 7.

The game went down to the buzzer as Eke missed a 2nd FT to tie. And then they missed a chance for a last shot.

The problem with pointing out that only 7 players played is that their rotation has primarily been 7 players all season.

Nelson has been out for five games now. This rotation tonight is basically what we've been playing with.

This game may have been competitive but it was ugly. And not in the knockout, dragout, good type of ugly way. The final play off the missed free throw was a fantastic example of the coaching ineptitude that plagues this team. We got a missed free throw, had to go the length of the court in 3.4 seconds left, and all five players panicked. Turnover.

I get so many EMU emails that I ignored those this morning and drove over this afternoon only to find the game was cancelled. It was rainy but hardly a treacherous drive.

I was on the road about 3:30 down here in Ohio on a route I presume Buffalo would take back and as temps dropped the roads were definitely spotty. I can understand moving it to tomorrow.
