What you wrote there makes 0 sense whatsoever. If you’re talking about the 2020 Troy game, they WERE allowed to reschedule their game with us due to “too many non-Covid injuries at certain positions” which is not what the Covid protocols were even for.
As far as this game, I work at CCU and haven’t heard word one about you all requesting a change to Sunday. If you requested and were denied, it was by the SBC. I do appreciate though that all you babies actually think we run the conference.

I'm okay with the game being at 7. Ample time to get there and the wind won't be as bad.

Also Coastal has a road game next week, so Sunday game would not be an option. The conference is not gonna give shortened prep for a storm that is already out of the area for 24 hours...

We all know that logistical issues of moving a team from point A to point B are way more involved than what happens in the 60 minutes of gametime on a football field and are affected more ahead of a weather event like this.
Also the conference scheduled us for a road game on a Thursday after playing a road game on Sat last season (when that is NOT supposed to happen), so you'll find no sympathy from us. You've already had extra rest days anyway so it's not like you'd be forced into a super compressed schedule.

So am I hearing excuses being made for a potential loss before the game is even played?

Shoe on the other foot, this is the same dialog. Just not a good look and that is all this really is.
But sure, just treat it like its excuse making.

In what universe would a previously scheduled Saturday game be pushed to Sunday because it is going to rain on Friday?

Next time y'all come to town, hopefully our weather machine will be working. Sorry we haven't knocked out the kinks yet

The issue is around travel and lodging created by Ian, not just that it rained the day before. Do you not know the ramifications a major Hurricane has on the neighboring States before and after?

What hard stance? The game time was moved.

Seems like someone is trying to create a narrative to help motivate their players.

Georgia Southern has to get to Coastal Carolina by driving north on Friday. Does anyone see a problem with this picture?

Ian is not and will not be a “major hurricane” by the time it gets to the Georgia and Carolina coasts. Let’s not be dramatic. It isn’t like either of our campuses are in Fort Meyers, FL.
It will literally be nothing but a rain storm by the time it impacts us.

Not to mention that GS also has a road game next week... and that we supposedly requested to have our own prep window shortened for next week by playing Sunday.
If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say that GS players having to spend Saturday morning travelling instead of waking up in a hotel might make a 2-3% difference in their ability to play. Maybe some of our guys can't sleep while moving or need extra time to stretch or get mentally ready.
It's just a bad look that a call was made at the very last minute that only affects one side. I have no idea who made the final call or who has the most sway in the argument, but this game should have either gone off as scheduled or been rescheduled two days ago.
That said, both teams have to play 60 minutes on Saturday night. Unless GS loses on a missed last-second FG that our kicker blames on leg cramps from having to ride a bus, I'm not too worried.
This is way more of an administrative issue than a competitive issue.
