Yep. Second sell out of the year.
Really hoping Helton can bring the MOJO back and we start seeing over 20k and maybe a sellout or 2 at Paulson.
Winning will always help... It would also help if UGA dropped a game and some of our students recognize that they have a good team - for free - in their backyard (No jokes. Every one of you other guys has the same issue).
Getting better weather would be great as well. Ball State was damn near perfect, but that's been more of an exception than a rule for the last few years in Statesboro.
IMO, the real culprit is GS's marketing and ticketing departments. The former has no budget and minimal staffing while the latter hasn't done much in the way of having innovative ideas.
As always, a huge issue for attendance is that the majority of our biggest fans - and a lot of our students who might want to go home for the weekend - are in ATL and that the drive to Statesboro has gone from a little over three hours a decade ago to over four due to more and more sprawl.
Not making excuses. If anything, that's all the more reason to invest in marketing. Statesboro is surrounded by rural counties that have decent populations, but anyone who didn't go to GS is pretty far in the bag for UGA. But with Savannah expanding and bringing in transplants and the army base south of town always bringing in new people, GS really needs to push hard to recruit new fans within an hour's drive of Paulson.
