I'll let the coaches and players worry about the next game, it's my job to want as much exposure for JMU as possible. 04-cheers

We get 2 votes. App gets like 5 votes. Coastal gets 4.

In terms of North Carolina interest, #5 Clemson played at #21 Wake Forest and 32,900 attended.
Transition team JMU and “Getting votes” App State played 90 minutes to the West and had more fans with 33,200 attend.

Has JMU @ App State become a bigger event than 2 ranked ACC teams playing?
Crazy times indeed.

I think we get more than that. In 3 games, we have now beaten two teams that have beaten Top 25 teams. One of them is 3-1 and we absolutely destroyed them 44-7, and it could have been much worse if we hadn't let off the gas.

There is a new day dawning in FBS football and it is beautiful!

I think this is optimistic. We may get a few votes, but it doesn't matter either way. Just keep winning. Win our next two games and we might be ranked. Win our next three games and we'll probably be ranked.

We're not bowl eligible, so the ranking itself doesn't even matter at this point. What does matter is getting in the conversation and building hype for the program.

We're off to the best year 1 transition since Marshall in 1997, and they did it without a prohibition on postseason play. Let's keep it going and enjoy each week. We have nothing to lose this year. Go Dukes!

Reminder: less than a year ago, a vocal minority on this board wanted Jeff Bourne fired. Now there is a thread suggesting we are good enough to get Top 25 votes in FBS. Carry on.

The hype does matter... Keep winning - there is a narrow path to a bowl if no enough teas have 6 wins. If we ONLY have 6, they would go with a 5 win established team....but if we win 8+, really make noise, keep the media on our side - we just may het the nod over a 5 win team

Crazier things have happened...as recently as today

I mean, hey, I understand the “just keep winning” thing, but the above is simply a foolish thing to say. Getting any top 25 votes after freaking 3 games in our transition year is bananas and should be immediately celebrated.

Second time ever and first time in 11 years. Enjoy the moment when it arrives.

Please name said teams.
Believe JMU may be the ONLY undefeated G5 team left.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking. If we wind up in first place in our division, how do they not let us play for the conference championship? Does the second-place finisher get to play for the conference championship? That would clearly be an illegitimate champion.

If we keep playing like we are capable of, I think we're going bowling!

JMU and Coastal Carolina. That’s it, that’s the list.

I don't think there is any wiggle room or exception policy on that one.... GS went 8-0 and was not awarded the conf championship

But if we keep winning...there is a glimmer of hope for post season! Unreal

The amount of undefeated teams is dwindling, I think we'll get some votes and if we take care of business in these next three games(which we'll be favored in) I think we'll be ranked for homecoming. Gotta avoid the let down though and beat Texas State first of all. Preferably handily, a scare from a team who got smacked by Nevada and whose only FBS win is FIU could hurt us too.

May have to wait for top 25 votes until JMU plays Louisville. If JMU remains undefeated until then, and saying Louisville, MTSU and App St. continue to win, JMU’s SOS will improve and recognition will come.

Interesting thread about JMU over on the college sports/realignment board...

https://csnbbs.com/thread-956062.html

I don't expect us to go undefeated, but it's an interesting hypothetical.

How’s this for garbage rankings:

https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...-rankings/

JMU (3-0) went on the road and beat App. State. (2-2) yet are ranked #82 to App. States #24.01-wingedeagle

That is last weeks. The records are updated but the poll isn’t.

They still have Oklahoma at #5
