I know. Syracuse is where good players go to die. That’s what Syracuse’s zone defense does to players.

Syracuse states they’re looking for a backup….why would he go be a backup? Hopefully Heath has contacted him.

Because Syracuse is in the ACC. If they offer Hima, it would be a lost cause for EMU. Too bad as I was intrigued by his 1 block/game in only 10 minutes.

Hima signed with Syracuse

Luckey, we've been through this many times.

After the last day of the 2nd signing period, signing the financial aid binds the school but not the player.

The player can sign with College X on May 19 and College Y on May 20.

Any school signing a player after May 18 takes a chance he could flip.

Based on the many things I have learned from ‘79 over the years, I think I can answer this question. May 18 is the end of the signing period where players and universities can sign official letters of intents. This legally binds the school and the player to each other for the upcoming academic year.

A player can still verbally commit to the university after that period, but are not legally required to follow through- and I assume the university is not bound to execute anything it promised either.

Now that said, the actual significance of that date is that most desirable programs will have their rosters set at that point. Of the players that will be left over, some are actually high major caliber but held out for the their ideal program for too long until they were left behind. That is when Rob Murphy would snatch them up. He was amazing at that.

I don't believe it is correct.

After May 18 the university is bound by the financial aid papers, but the player does not have to enroll and may choose another school and sign financial aid papers.

I'll look it up to get it from the horse's mouth (NCAA).

Steve this is correct. Sorry read Ramys post too fast. Correct after May 18 the school signing a player is committed but the player signing can revoke his signing and sign with a different school.

Hmmmm, I am wondering if that is what Emoni is waiting on? Another poster clipped an interview quote saying among the reasons Emoni was considering EMU was because it would allow him to play with his friend Rocket. Maybe Emoni is waiting to see if Rocket gets a waiver or not. Interesting post, Luckey.

UofD has great guard play ! With Antoine Davis resigning with UofD plus the addition of this guard, they’ll have one of the top backcourts in the Midwest.

I think the Bass Miller backcourt of CMU will be fun to watch.

He signed with Syracuse because he has a 3.8 gpa and is an engineering student, and they have a terrific engineering department.
