RE: Eastern Michigan 2022 Men's Basketball Verbal Commits
Spottsville had his best season.

EMU’s woes were related to Covid, injuries, lack of good front court players, Golson not playing SF, Scott not shooting enough, Rice not playing more, McBride shooting but 20 percent on three’s, not stopping opponents three-ball. Conference foes shooting 51.5 percent on two’s and 37. 3 percent on three’s, doomed EMU’s MAC tournament hopes.

In short we weren't a good team overall.

I’m not sure that EMU was not a “good team overall,” given that EMU could have scored points more if Rice and Ballard, who both shot well, had played in more games and placed in EMU’s rotation.

Also, we didn’t get to see the best from M. Scott and McBrife.

Disappointed that Heath did not play a pressure defense as EMU had players capable of disrupting opponent offenses, make opponents play faster, and force turnovers. He chose not to have his team play that way.

Opponents scoring would have been far less if Heath had designed his defense to stop the three ball, and concentrated on protecting the rim.

In short, how good EMU was as a team is unknown.

Yes we do. We look at the outcome of the actual games played. Those are the facts. Based on the actual outcomes we weren't a good team. Every team in the MAC has excuses as to why they didn't do better but excuses don't change results. Time to pack away last season and look forward. Glad some of don't farm. You would driving the tractor backwards.

Look at post 138 on page 7. where I lay-out in more detail how EMU’s defensive system could have been much better and how players skill-sets were not employed as the should have.

One has to look behind EMU’s record. When we did we see was a bad defensive system that allowed conference opponents to shoot 37 percent on three’s, and 51 percent on two’s. That’s on the HC, not the players.

We also saw good shooters like Rice and Ballard played very little. That’s on the HC.

I’m worried that mistakes will be repeated this up-coming season. You should to.
