RE: WAC MBB Week #6
After a rough start going 0fer 6 to start the week, the WAC has bounced back with 7 straight wins. Good job Tarleton and UTRGV.

Should be four tough games in the WAC on Saturday... GCU vs. San Francisco, CBU @ Arizona, SFA @ Kansas, and maybe Seattle U @ Washington.

Why do you say “maybe” Seattle U @ Washington?

Nice wins for the WAC by the Texas schools. Glad to see it. Today is full of tough games. Hoping one the WAC schools can pull one out.

The Huskies are almost 40 spots lower than Seattle in the NET. I don't know if that's what he meant or not, but it is a flip from the other game he mentioned.

Yes, the Seattle/Washington game is still a marquee game but more in name only as a P5 opponent. Washington's performance thus far is a far cry from Arizona, Kansas, and San Francisco. Seattle U should have a fair shot at winning that game if they play well. The other three games listed will be a taller order for the WAC to win. Although, I do think GCU has the talent to give San Francisco their first loss if all the Lopes play to their potential.
On a side note, former Seattle guard Terrell Brown Jr. is having a statistically good season for Washington at 21.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.0 agp, 2.0 spg. It will be an interesting match-up between Redhawk past vs. Redhawk present (Darrion Trammell, 14.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.4 apg, 2.8 spg).

Looks like Dixie State is a legit D1 program going into their second season. They have accumulated three OOC wins and their first on the road today at North Dakota.

Lamar's struggles continue. Five players were unavailable today due to injuries. I don't know when the last game that Lamar had all their players. Cardinals fall at A&M CC

If Lamar can get fully healthy by March, they could be a dangerous team in the WAC tournament, but they need to finish among the top 10 "eligible" teams in the conference standings. Dixie State and Tarleton are not tournament eligible yet. Actually, neither is Cal Baptist, but the WAC is allowing them to participate; after their second D1 season. If they win the WAC Tourney, I think the regular season champion goes to the NCAA tourney. Nevertheless, Chicago State could be the fly in the ointment for Lamar to make the WAC Tournament as the Cougars are much improved from past WAC history.

RE: WAC MBB Week #6
NMSU is playing todays with only two starters in uniform (Allen and McNair). Jans is apparently resting the other three. So, it is up to our bench to step up and carry the load. Right now, we are up by 18 at the half.
CBU is making a good showing against a very hot Arizona team. Down only 7 at the half.

GCU is leading USF by 5 right now with just over 6 minutes left in the game. They might just hand USF their first loss.

Looks like GCU pulls it off: 49-48. Good win for the WAC!
