I can not believe that we have Join C-USA. Well it's a done deal, so I am now officially a C-USA fan.
Let's Goooooo
I hope next year C-USA hands out L's to that Sunbelt league who just keeps talking how great they are.

The SHSU board is about to meltdown.
If MTSU and WKU leave for the MAC, this conference map is going to look very, very strange. If this were what App had jumped to in 2012/2013, I believe everyone would've rather made a move to the CAA than join what this currently looks like.
Maybe the future state will be better? Anyone know if anymore FCS call-ups are in the works? Kennessaw State has more fan support than Georgia State and is in the same market. They would provide a rival for Jacksonville State.
Liberty and Jacksonville State just joined what will effectively be a Texas-centric conference, where every decision is viewed as if Texas is the center point.
Congrats to C-USA for not dying. But this is perplexing to say the least.
This is going to be the last chance to move to the FBS in the current setup. The idea the WAC was just going to jump into the FBS together and soak up CFP money was far fetched. This is a no-brainer move for any FCS program. Their fans don’t get that. You weren’t going to get two years to get everything together and then join the FBS ranks with SFA, Tarleton, Lamar and others. That was never going to happen.
Well how does SHSU get their stuff together? They have as many fans show up as Tulane and Temple, I suppose, but the pockets of those programs are quite a bit deeper.
Coastal had Joe Moglia who effectively bank rolled and planned everything financially to help Coastal make the move.
If the CFP doesn't go to 12, and is still a P5 invitational, does that really help anyone? If the move-ups are banking on that expansion coming, and it doesn't come, then what?
Still unhappy with the SBC?
How is FAU going to get fans without a single rival in the AAC? The only opponent that draws any fans is FIU. Enjoy playing in front of 9,000 people in Lincoln Financial and at Tulane.
Hate to defend FAU but I’d have to assume they’d get way more fans for USF than us.

The ironic thing is if the conference had simply approved LU to begin with the conference would still have Marshall, ODU, WKU and MTSU and likely JMU. Now that would have been a heck of a hoops league too. Looks like everyone will make out just fine. The only one I feel bad for is FIU.
Less than ideal but I’m sure most here feel that way about the lineup too. End of the day, we have a conference. Just need to win and invest. Everything else will take care of itself.

By the way to Sunbelts trolls, Liberty is not in the market of controlling any conference. We have never done that and won't start now. We keep to ourselves and just win on the athletic arenas....

RE: OFFICIAL: Liberty, New Mexico State, Jacksonville State, Sam Houston St. to CUSA
Had a thought after listening to an interview with the UMass AD.
It seems that UMass is willing to bring along Olympic sports from the A-10 to have football in a conference.
Could it be WKU and UMass to MAC? and MTSU in C-USA?

I think the UMass AD did an interview last weekend where he said the opposite. That UMass would stay in the A-10 for Hoops and explore football only conference invites. Maybe he has changed his tune? Maybe he thought C-USA would extend a football only invite and that hasn't materialized?

NMSU and UTEP being travel partners means that in sports besides football that other schools will fly into El Paso and play a Thursday or Friday game against UTEP and then take a bus to NMSU and play them on Saturday or Sunday and then take a bus back to El Paso and fly out? So in like basketball, volleyball, and baseball?

UTEP does not have baseball. But, yeah, that's the idea. M/W basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc.

That makes travel expenses and the hardship of travel better. Any idea on how much better expense wise? It's only one flight and you get two games, but you also have to rent buses and get hotel rooms.

Have you heard an interview I haven't? Last I knew it was "at this point we're bringing football only. We're happy with the A10."
If we got rejected from CUSA and changed our tune, and now are pitching to go all sports to the MAC with WKU in the case MTSU turns them down, well then that would be something (that many of us would be happy with).

I’m just not seeing the upside of a FB only invite. All it would do is help you but would only be a burden on the CUSA. Travel would increase and you wouldn’t count toward the FBS min numbers. Just seems silly to even consider it and that goes for UCONN too.

Western was the only CUSA school not to post on the 4 additions. So maybe Middle's leadership isnt as bad as they thought

Most reasonable fans at UMass know that we bring nothing to the table for football only, and would have been much happier had we decided, this time around (most have changed our tune over the past few years), to go all-in with WKU to the MAC.
The only, very negligible thing, that a football only would bring to the CUSA would be more guaranteed FBS games for the schools that are transitioning, so they can meet the minimum more easily. But that's not enough to push things across, I'd think.

If anything adding UMass would make us have :ban:less slots open for OOC. That would be a huge con for LU. We love P5 OOC games so give us those open slots any day all day.

Not necessarily. Think divisional play with only a couple of cross division games per school.
