We could still invite JMU + 1 to get to 12 and have a really solid conference.
JMU & UMASS likely the last two in the east.
If it were to happen.
I know they are both FCS but I was thinking more along the lines of JMU in the East and Missouri State in the West. I'd rather stay at 10 than add UMASS football. Unless you meant for the proposed new conferences as the last two in that new east division.
Yeah the proposed new conference. The article mentions two more added to the east, I can’t think of any others unless a SB team
defects. Liberty probably still not palatable enough.
If this were to happen I think the SB stands at 10

That is what he meant.
Although I think the other two in the east may not have been UMass and JMU, but rather App and Coastal. I'm saying that might be what they're *trying* to do, not what App or CCU want to do.

Quote:MacLeod has briefly described her reorganization proposals with other commissioners, but doesn’t know “if people are willing to get in,” she says.
I would guess this is referring to Keith Gill and the Sun Belt. Surely it's not the MWC or MAC?

In this scenario, they'd be much better off with Buffalo instead of UMass or UConn to go with Temple. Temple probably wishes the A-10 sponsored football, most of those New Englanders just aren't into college football.

. . . IF the TV revenue streams were equal, this proposal might (read that long shot) have a chance. But even a depleted AAC, stands to lose a hellofa lot more in going along with this . . . Can’t really see this happening. More likely the aac continues to look for programs to poach.

Wouldn't this be harming to the overall brand of the AAC and what they built? Isn't that why they left C-USA to begin with?

She might even be referring to members of her own conference. La. Tech and UNT strike me as particularly resistant to the idea of reshuffling, especially if it is with the SB.
Separately, I noticed that Gill said the Sb wasn't interested in a "merger."
This wouldn't be a merger. It would be a bunch of trades, with the same number of leagues in the end result.

Agreed, if the AAC, Sun Belt and C-USA were more or less on equal footing this would make complete sense and would be doable as no conference would feel they were giving up money for geographic gains.

Yes, and as we all know, only C-USA gains from this "trading", like so many baseball cards.

That's a fair point. Well I'm fine with however this shakes out. I like Troy being associated with who we are and hopefully all 10 stay together but if not we will press on just like last time.

How embarrassing for the CUSA schools that have any self respect left.
This is getting quite sad.

Yup . . . this is like some gold digger that marries a rich guy, and the rich guy signs some perverse pre-nup that gives the gold digger everything in the event of divorce.

He runs an SBC centric website. Is a Troy fan. I can’t vouch, but Gill has admitted he’s spoken a bunch with Judy during this, so it makes some sense

Redrawing the three conferences makes a lot of sense, but too many egos at the table. You've have to get 10 more teams to turn down the AAC invite to make this happen at this time.

He has connections within the Troy athletic department. I don't think he would make this up therefore I think there is truth here as much as was shared with him.
