Depends on how many teams are available and how many we need. I don’t think we shoot ourselves in the foot over misplaced pride. Now as far as what the rankings would be as far as who I’d want, I don’t have a clue.

Maybe the original Florida twins, UCF and USF, it would be a nice to get them both back in the conference.

Well most likely WKU.

After that it’s either their shadow or a Florida. Can’t see UNT taking a swing.

WKU and FAU both left on the best terms of the group, and they are close enough to current schools that they make a lot of sense. I don't think UNT will ever approach the SBC again. MTSU is complicated, but probably wouldn't do it unless they knew WKU was talking.

I’m inclined to agree. But few good business decisions are made on emotion.

Let me tell you right now. As a Marshall fan my opinion does not matter.

But....if somehow someway Marshall, Southern Miss, FAU AND WKU are able to make it to the Belt, Marshall will meet FAU and WKU at the airport.

LOT of respect for those programs.

And we would hands down have the best G5 conference with them in the fold.

Only WKY or FAU. They are the only ones that didn't rub out noses in the fact they thought CUSA was better.

wku could improve basketball. They are the current cusa travel partner with marshall.

I cant see one thing fau has done for our league.
Its plain to see those schools did not help with tv dollars.

On the other hand i just watched appy and marshall, sign me up for the belt.

If the AAC just goes for markets and not strong SBC and CUSA football brands they are screwing up (and I think that is great). Let's get the serious football brands in CUSA to join us in the SBC and have a ton of fun being the best football in the G5 - AND have the full support of ESPN networks 03-wink

I would be a lot more interested in joining the SBC if WKU/FAU/So Miss were coming with us.....but I didn't think the SBC wanted to expand to 14?

Im quite sure that to save face after not getting the west schools they want, they will do exactly that. Make the mistake of taking markets, utsa, uab, fau etc. They get a hand full of tulanes. Uab has good football, but they have never shown the ability to do more than one thing at a time.
The others mentioned are exactly like tulane, In a big market and no one watches them. Ive been to San antonio, I did not see any signs a university was there when i got off campus. The southland school there is more visible.

I was really po'd when Western left right after they said they would stick with the Sun Belt. But the folks running the show then aren't there any more. I LOVED the basketball rivalry with them.

But having said that, I still do not believe we are adding four schools.
