I'm not a fan of FIU either....but FAU is totally different. You guys would like them to be honest. They are truly invested in their football program and are 100% football first.

If the deal is Southern Miss/Western/Marshall/FAU, that should be a yes from every SBC president.

ODU, LaTech, Charlotte, NMST, UAB, UCF, New Orleans, USF, VCU, Jacksonville, Texas-Pan American, Lamar, Denver. Plenty of programs have spent some time in the SBC.

If the AAC just goes for markets and not strong SBC and CUSA football brands they are screwing up (and I think that is great). Let's get the serious football brands in CUSA to join us in the SBC and have a ton of fun being the best football in the G5 - AND have the full support of ESPN networks

I still think that's the ultimate end result: Two conferences, one built on having a wide footprint based on television markets and another one focused on a regional footprint based on rivalries and convenience of its members. And then we as football fans will see which is a better formula for success.

Frankly if what we saw last night is allowed to be a weekly thing among long-time foes which are brought back under the same flag, the "Fun" in Funbelt is going to explode. So if you can do that by bringing back a WKU or FAU into the mix along with a Marshall and a Southern Miss, I'd be all for it.

To me....IF, the Sun Belt is going to 14 with Marshall and So Miss being numbers 11 & 12.....

Then I think WKU is a no brainer and slide them in the West. Then the last spot comes down to ODU and FAU.

I like both of them and would be more than fine with either one. FAU is more serious about football and has had FBS success.

ODU is more regional, probably has better fan base, and has excellent basketball.

You guys decide, but Marshall/So Miss/WKU would be excellent adds with ODU/FAU as #14.

Plus South Florida (charter member) & VCU.

Marshall will come no matter what, and I realize we do not have choices. But if the SBC goes to 14 teams I would like the additions to be Marshall/JMU to the East and Southern Miss/WKU to the West.

And I’m not picking JMU because they are close to Marshall. I am picking them because I like seeing 25K crowds and fired up fanbases like last night in Boone, NC. Every league out there could use more of that.

To all the Marshall fans saying “if FAU and WKU comes then I’m all for it.” What if they don’t come? What if the offer is just USM and Marshall?

They would still go, 100%. Marshall and USM are both football first programs and the SBC is a very strong football league. I am biased, but I think WKU and FAU would help the league, but I also understand that 14 may be too many.

Then we accept the invite and I am going to throw a party at my house celebrating leaving CUSA lol. I am not joking.

It’s the SBC’s party, we are just happy to be invited.

Willie T. will follow WKU anywhere. I dont see this happening, I think WKU would take their chances as long as ODU and Marshall stay for hoops. If of course they leave than different story. Will be interested either way to see how this all shakes out. I would love to be back in the Belt for football but basketball no way!

And not one of them would even imagine going to SunBelt.

I have heard it from our athletic department that it is likely Marshall and USM are coming. There seems to be a good bit of debate/disagreement among members about whether we should go to 14 but if we do we supposedly have schools willing to join.

JMU or ODU and Marshall in the east and Southern Miss and WKU in the west would be good additions to the Belt.
