RE: 2022 Football Commits
Is the list at the beginning of this thread updated? I thought we signed 2-3 QB.

I don't have confirmation that either Powell or McCoy have signed binding LOI wait until February

RE: 2022 Football Commits
EMU got a commit from Joshua Scott a CB from CCSF. Not sure if this was already somewhere on this site.

Film looks really good on him 6 footer who is athletic and can hit. Also has a yr of experience at the juco level. He should absolutely be in the mix for a starting spot. I was never sold on Paul who transferred out so this could be a nice fit.

Yes Paul was in his senior year and we get 3-4 years with Scott.

He moves to the ball well and uses his hands very well. Impressive!

I believe, lest I be wrong, that the weekend before signing period begins is a 'quiet' or 'dead' period per the NCAA.

If I'm right, any new signees should have already taken their official visits already.
They could have taken them in December or earlier in January. Some, of course, may have taken them much earlier in 2021 such as summer or fall.

RE: 2022 Football Commits
Looking at some of these I'm not sure if they are scholarship OR PWO.
E.g., Smith: lot of interested schools and no offers? Is that information up to date???

What I think we'll see Wednesday is some D-I transfers who are obviously scholarship players and then we'll need to watch to see which of the H.S. recruits are scholarship and which are PWO.

If I'm a coach I look hard at YOUNG transfers. Like what???

How about a player who played in 2020 as a true freshman and also 2021. He has two years of playing experience, BUT 3 years of playing eligibility left.

What could be better???? 03-idea

I think it depends on the position group. i wouldnt want to see any transfer WRs. Transfer TE on the other hand.

Well, what I suggested is 'perfect' in the sense of how it balances classes. Normally say 1/2 or more of the class will be incoming freshman. Then maybe a few juniors from JUCO. Or a grad transfer.

What I described is an INCOMING SOPH w. two years experience. Like the hot fudge sundae (neither too hot or too cold) the recruit is neither inexperienced nor an upper classman. Just right. Has 3 years of elig. left but not a frosh.

The question is how many scholarships do we have available and WHEN are they available. Now? Or after the winter semester ends? Any more players hitting the portal and transferring out?

I would think that the staff asks players wanting to transfer so indicate so the program can plan for available scholarships.
