That is just players that are being pushed out. My issue is the poaching of players by the P5. What incentive do the CUSA teams have for recruiting a High School kid when they know they will build the kid up and in a year or twos a Duke or a UT or a Louisville will come calling.

Did you see JJs comments on it? This is going to change how recruiting is done at many places. I expect ODU as well as most mids and low majors to put more of their focus on the portal and less on high school recruits who may not contribute until their second or third year.

But realistically---this is just 1/2 of the new recruiting world we are about to witness. The other half of the story is the new NIL laws (I believe 5 states have NIL laws that will take effect at the end of July of THIS YEAR). Most all these laws block ANY restriction by schools, conferences, or governing bodies limiting the amount of money a player can earn from NIL. Thus, the second half of this brave new recruiting world will be school boosters buying players for their teams with so called "NIL" contracts that are really just thinly veiled pay-for-play deals. When you pair free one time transfers that allow immediate eligibility with a pay-for-play marketplace---you have something approaching full on "wild west" free agency.

Its going to be interesting to see how this shakes out. My sense is few schools have any real understanding of whats about to happen. Most schools are going to enter this new era completely unprepared. Any school that is already organizing their booster groups and formulating their role in the process has a chance to leave everyone else in the dust. Will coordination between the staff and boosters be allowed?
I suspect not---thus there will need to be an unspoken back channel the boosters use to coordinate their efforts to line up with the staff targets. It may be as simple as a staff becoming very open and transparent with school's 247 site about which recruits the staff really wants.
