RE: Even More bad news for the anti-vaxxers - Pfizer vaccine 99.3 percent effective.
My college roommate is a scientist with Merck. While not specifically telling people not to take the shots, he has been posting lots of science based information that could be seen as anti-vax. He got Covid 12 days ago and is catching hell. Waves of temp spikes and loss of taste and smell. Its a crap shoot folks. Take it..don't take it. There are risks both ways. Do what you want but be ready for the consequences either way.

RE: Even More bad news for the anti-vaxxers - Pfizer vaccine 99.3 percent effective.
Here is that CDC link showing 90% efficacy for the MRNA vaccines against infection *both symptomatic and asymptomatic* mentioned above. Also 80% efficacy 14 days after one dose both symptomatic and asymptomatic. **Note, as stated above, these are front-line workers who are the most likely to come in contact with the virus. The data was collected during the time when the variants were circulating.** So extremely good news there and preventing asymptomatic disease and spread.

Quote:Karen: Have you gotten your COVID shot yet?
Me: No, but I identify as a vaccinated person.
Karen: What does that mean?
Me: It means I am a vaccinated person trapped inside an unvaccinated body.
Karen: That doesn't make sense!
Me: Don't you deny my truth! That's oppression! This space is supposed to be free of vaccine-ism.
Karen: But that's crazy...There's no such thing as vaccine-ism.
Me: Yes there is. That attitude of yours is a manifestation of Vaccine Supremacy, in fact.
Karen: What do you mean?
Me: Please stop calling me "You". Please use my preferred pronoun.
Karen: What's that?
Me: I prefer to be called "Vaccinaro" or "Vaccinari". Unless I'm also identifying as female that day, in which case the acceptable pronouns are "Vaccinara" and "Vaccinaria". You are also required, because "safety" and "diversity", to suspend your version of objective reality to accept my subjective version. Otherwise, you're my enemy.
Karen: Those aren't even real words! How can I ignore reality?
Me: Where do you work?
Karen: Why do you want to know?
Me: Because you're not validating my lived experience and refusing to use my stated, preferred pronouns. This gives me the right to call your boss and have you fired, and if I can get three people on Twitter to agree with me that's the beginning of a lawsuit. I'll ruin you, you Science Denier!
Karen: What Science?
Me: The Science that says I can be a Vaccinaro trapped inside a Non-Vaccinarobody. We Vaccinaro are a hated and oppressed minority, having to share the world with you filthy, elitist, colonialist Vaccinated. If I get 10 more likes on my Instagram and enough Chinese grant money the medical profession will put a page in the DSM-V just for us and the government will have to give us all sorts of benefits you oppressive Vaccinated can't have because Equity.
Karen: That has nothing to do with Science. Or Vaccinations.
Me: You're dangerously close to me gathering the other Vaccinari together to have a peaceful protest with bricks and Molotovs on your front lawn, Karen.
Karen: I'll just call the cops.
Me: You can't...you had them defunded.
Karen: All I asked is if you're vaccinated! Do we really have to have this argument?
Me: The question was offensive.
Karen: How was it offensive?
Me: See? You don't even know! Unconscious bias, that is! I swear I...just...can't...even...
Karen: I didn't mean to offend you. All I did was ask a question.
Me: You have no right to question me! I'm an oppressed minority. What's next? You going to gun me down in the street?
Karen: I wouldn't do that! I hate guns.
Me: So, you're a Gun-o-phobe, too? I love guns, so if you hate them then you must have a mental disorder called a "phobia". Everyone knows that. Anything I like that you hate indicates you're insane and a hater. Don't yuck my yum, Fash.
Karen: Fash?
Me: Fascist.
Karen; I just wanted to know if it was safe to be around you...erm...I mean Vaccinaro...I don't want to get sick.
Me: Oh, so only people who haven't had the shot can spread COVID? We're all diseased, is that what you're saying? Your biases are showing! You're a bigot! You FASCIST!
Karen: I am NOT a Fascist!
Me: Yes you are! You said only Vaccinari can give you COVID. You can catch it off a lamppost or a public toilet seat, you know.
Karen: No you can't!
Me: Yes you can! Dr. Fauci said so on MSNBC and he and they always tell the truth. Until either of them changes their minds without warning in which case whatever they say today that contradicts whatever they said yesterday is now the truth, and again, you are obliged to believe it because shut up.
Karen: I will not shut up. I have the right of Free Speech.
Me: I have unilaterally declared that your words are violence, Hate Speech, in fact, therefore, I have also unilaterally decided you cannot have Free Speech. Only oppressed Vaccinari can have Free Speech, because of the Legacy of COVID.
Karen: You're out of your mind; do you know that?
Me: Now you know how it feels, Snowflake.

Unfortunately, some of us still live in areas with Democratic dinosuars, who will drop us back to 15% capacity, and try to get police officers to shut down private businesses, at the first moment of a spike

It is a courtesy to me for people to not use scented laundry detergent and especially scented dryer sheets. Those things make everyone in my family deathly ill. If I am in a store and you have that on your clothes, please wait until my family and I are through shopping. Thank You.

If you want to be vaccinated or not vaccinated, wear a mask or not wear a mask, that is your choice. What amazes me about Americans today is how much they allowed the government to dictate to them how they should operate on a daily basis with masks etc...
People live in fear because the news media and government are pushing a fear narrative in order to control people. When someone stands up against the narrative, they are demonized.
Using fear by making one side feel inferior because of what they believe is quite Machiavellian.

I find it consistently odd that there is a deadly disease that has taken hundreds of thousands of lives in this country and when offered something that will prevent you from illness, death, and the spread of that disease to your neighbors - for free - that the tough guys on this board think it's respectable to refuse it. Like we're supposed to be impressed. Maybe you're just stupid.

That's the thing, it has nothing to do with respect. It has to do with CHOICE. I'm more than likely going to eventually get some vaccine, but I in no way believe others should be forced to get the vaccine.

You wouldnt have made a good clinician. You would have quit after day one, or more likely fired for calling the patient in front of you stupid.

Do you have a 99% chance of surviving a car accident? I honestly don't know.

My virus-proof day (2 weeks after 2nd Pfizer shot) is April 23, at which point I will be happily enlisting in your no-mask movement.
Herr Fauci and Commandant Northam can k.m.a.
Actually, new information released today from real scientific studies from both Moderna and Pfizer vaccines indicate 80% virus-proof 2 weeks after 1st shot and 90% 2 weeks after 2nd shot. And this supposedly means you don't catch it enough to transmit it or feel any symptoms.

Do you feel good knowing a part of having had Covid is the possibility of something called "long-haul" symptoms? You might not feel any now, but they can crop up at any time. And when they do, you probaby won't be feeling good then. Also there's more and more data suggesting those who catch Covid the 2nd time usually have a harder time with it and have greater chance for the dreaded "long-haul" symptoms. And that makes sense since that's certainly been my experience with the flu.
I feel good. Period. So sell your fear somewhere else.
Put a link for your bullshite.
I'm not afraid at all. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.
