clt says that is a strong brand, airport and market.

Congrats. That's all good, but the really important question is "where is your recruiting class ranked by 247Sports?"

4th overall for all G5, behind Boise, Memphis and Cinci. Not bad for a new coach recruiting during a pandemic.

Change the name to Heinz University and let John Kerry be president of something at last.

You know yesterday was the 5th anniversary of Phil Ratliffs passing. He was a great guy who is stilled missed by both schools and their fans.

He was gone too soon. I feel like Charlotte football would have gotten competitive several years sooner if Ratliff had been here. Brad Lambert might still be a Head Coach. That is the kind of influence Ratliff had on the program.

I am glad we got to see both his kids grow into good young adults and 49er Alumni.

His kids are great. My wife taught with his wife Jennie when he was a coach at Marshall.

RC Johnson agrees...though airport marketability may be overstated...refer to his BE presentation.

What if this lasts more than one year? Every solution or adjustment seems to be predicated on this being a temporary, 2020 problem. We may be seeing the first stage of the end of college athletics.

Ratliff's dream was to one day become the HC at Marshall. The only reason he left is coaching position at Marshall is because Doc told him if he really wanted that he needed to coach under others.

Looks like fall football being cancelled is all but a formality at this point. You have to think schools will be walking a budgeting tightrope for weeks to come. This could be really ugly. Higher ed may change forever. I predict several G5 schools drop down or cancel their football and/or other programs before the end of the year.
