RE: Norvell to FSU?
Dear Memphis Fans,
I am a longtime FSU season ticket holder who wandered on here trying to find info on our new head coach, Mike Norvell, as well as coordinators Fuller and Dillingham. I joined the board so I could thank a bunch of classy guys. You guys. Thanks for being good sports, good fans, and for being gentlemen and women even after we hired your coach.

FSU fans are spoiled and have not endured the Taggart years and the end of the Fisher era well. Norvell comes across as focused, disciplined, and detail oriented. Better days are coming.

WT is a very nice guy who was in over his head. In nearly two seasons we never made the adjustments to play better in the second half. Can’t line up, stupid penalties, no discipline. I can’t imagine CMN putting up with this. His skill set, his choice of assistants, FSU’s brand, the future looks a lot brighter.

FSU having overpaid WT and suffering the buyout, CMN should not fear the hook in two years. (A) we don’t have the money. (2) he’s a much better coach, comparing records, (iii) we’re going win football games (I hope, I hope, I hope).

I watched your tough second win over Cincinnati. Good luck in the Cotton Bowl. If you can’t pull for FSU, I hope you can pull for Mike Norvell.
All the best, Mike

I think the exit of MN has been more appreciated than any other coaching exit we have had. I think the general opinion among Memphis fans is that they would love to see MN succeed and do well. I know I sure do. That feeling is probably split in the middle with Fuente, but it seems as if there was overwhelmingly positive response when MN took the FSU job. Anyone in their right mind would leave Memphis for the FSU job. No one can blame him. Hope he does well!

Some FSU fans have complained that Memphis doesn't play anybody to speak of, accounting for Norvell's good record. Keep in mind that many rating services ranked the AAC above the ACC this year.

Norvell makes in game adjustments that work, he's a terrific recruiter, and will be a great ambassador for FSU football. Plus he's well-respected by his players. Nothing negative I can say about him. He'll put FSU back on top quickly.

I am certainly glad that FSU did not play Memphis this year. Although, we have lost to worse teams, like Miami. Memphis is a good program with quality wins.
Best, Mike

I think you are going to be very happy with this hire. MN is a great offensive mind and really has the ability to hire great assistants. He lost a ton of assistants to bigger jobs after last season and all he did was reload and go 12-1.

Yet somehow not good enough for coach of the year.

As long as he doesn't grow his dredlocks back, FSU will love this guy. And if you don't, meaning your fanbase, it's an indication of the fanbase not the coach.

and he got the defense better. Only thing that was odd is he backed off being aggressive against us in the cship game.
