The Montana and Albany games stick out. Both put up plenty of points in both so this should be interesting

We should have no problem putting up 40 on them and no problem holding them to less than that.

Should have zero issues from what I watched today. Can not lose turnover battle or special teams and we will roll their offense was underwhelming today.

Note MU's QB suffered a hamstring pull today and played the rest of the game but didn't seem to be much of a running threat or quickly evading sacks after that moment. His speed was impacted.

Tough to come back 100% from a hamstring injury in a week

Virtually impossible. Appeared to be a grade 2 strain which usually takes 2 weeks or more to heal. He really had no ability to run after the injury and had to pass from the pocket. They will use compression and ice it today and tomorrow and then do electrical muscle stimulation and rehab the best they can this week, wrap it and warm it up really well before the game but it will be surprising if he will be able to recover fully (or even be at 75% running wise) by Saturday.

Besides Western Michigan, Montana, Albany, KSU and Holy Cross here are the records of the other teams Monmouth played:

Lafayette 4-8
Wagner 1-10
Presbyterian 1-10
Gardner Webb 3-9
Charleston Southern 5-6
North Alabama 3-7
Campbell 6-5
Hampton 5-7

Pretty easy to run up yardage and points on teams like those. They barely beat Wagner (16-14) and Lafayette (24-21)

Fun snippet from Hero Sports recap of HC and Monmouth “ Though Monmouth avoided having to travel to a CAA school in the first round, as is the fate of some automatic qualifiers from “non-big 3” conferences in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, it will now confront CAA champion James Madison in Harrisonburg, Virginia in the second round. In turn, as time winded down on the scoreboard at Kessler Stadium during the Hawks’ convincing win over Holy Cross, Monmouth fans could be heard chanting for “J-M-U! J-M-U!”

They should be very fired up with nothing to lose. Will be interesting to see what they bring to the table with their offense.

supposedly in the monmouth post game interview, their QB said he just cramped up. Could be just downplaying the injury but either way JMU better be on their game defensively

President of Monmouth tweeted out "Bring on JMU" ... lol

They do have a linebacker named Evan Powell who had two picks, including one highlight where he had a high vertical leap. Wouldn't be shocked if they get an interception ... but on the other hand if they drop their linebackers back in coverage like that our RBs will have a field day. It looked like they were only rushing 3 guys on that play. We might not throw more than 5 passes all game.

I think they put a lot on their run game and when our front 3 (Atariwa is out for the first half, right?) smash them in the mouth a few times to start the game, they'll realize why our rush defense is so strong. Stony Brook is the only team to rush for over 85 yards on us all year (they got 118 including OT)...and we ran up 329 on them. The big thing will be making sure our linebackers and secondary stay in their positions so we don't allow any big runs to slip through.

Not worried. Holy Cross QB threw across the middle into double and triple coverage.

Thoughts on taking the ball first if we win the toss? Run it down their throats on the first position and take some wind out of their sails. Monmouth will come in playing with house money and the last thing jmu needs is to give them any moment to start the game

Is it customary to have a noticeable drop in your speed when you cramp but are no longer cramping?
