I stopped at one of these on a road trip last year and I'm still wondering what all the fuss is about.

It didn't impress me as anything special above any other fast food burger joint. I'd much rather stop at a Sonic.

Don't know what a Flamer is (well in a burger sense) but I don't consider 5 Guys "fast food". But yeah, it's a good chain burger and top notch fries.

Had it in Wisconsin years and years ago but we have several in the DFW area now.

Cook-Out is the best thing about the Carolinas. For $5 you get a burger, a chicken wrap, two sides and a drink.

Cook-Out is the best thing about the Carolinas. For $5 you get a burger, a chicken wrap, two sides and a drink.

You can get a corn dog as a side at Cook Out.

Higher end joints like Shake Shack and Smashburger are the trend in Charlotte.

Smashburger is worth the extra coin.

Freddy's double steakburger California style. Good service and if you eat inside its clean. Last time I ate at Cookout, it was nasty, food and the building. Smelled like piss. Food tasted like shiit

Cookout is amazing. Freddie’s and Culver’s are good choices as well. Never been a fan of whatAburger

Not a fan of Culver's. They use to sponsor a promotion for a free burger if the Blue Raider men hit so many 3pt FGs in a game. This was, IIRC, the first couple of season of Giddy Potts career. They didn't renew after getting burned badly on that promotion. I haven't been to Culvers' since.

Smashburger is awesome, they closed the one here in the boro.

Last time I was in Charlotte for business I ate at this place called Chubz. I felt confident I was going to be mugged walking out of the place, but was one of the best chili burgers I have had in a long long time.
