What a burger is a local chain around Charlotte. Not affiliated with the larger chain
So what's your point other than to derail another thread with your bs?

Don't you have a football game to prepare to lose?

Not sure how they are priced elsewhere but you know those trendy joints make their burgers the same way Five Guys does (and heck even McDonalds to a slightly lesser extent now that they use unfrozen meat). If you get a drink and side you aren't getting out of those places for much less than $15, so I question whether the extra cost is actually worth it at these trendy places. Are they really that much better?? I like Shake Shack, but I'm not angling to pay that much just for a quick bite that's a hamburger. If I'm going to go that route it generally won't be a chain. Le Diplomate - even though it's a French restaurant - does a really, really good burger.

Frankly, a burger should be cooked over an open flame - preferably charcoal not a slab of stainless steel. JMO.
In theory yes. Open flame. But there are plenty of joints that do a diner/Burger joint burger very well.

Steak and Shake is another I am partial to. Also if you are ever near a Chik Fil A Dwarf House they do a great job with diner food including burgers.

Cast iron skillet is acceptable and sometimes preferred

Clt has won this round and is now even up after taking one on the chin from pannyMa over in the soccer thread.

Another funny story, I only ever get chocolate shakes. Today I tried to order the drpepper shake. All they had was vanilla. Hahaha I got it anyway....
Ok i guess it wasn’t that funny a story.

I've kind of developed a taste for Highway 55 since they came to town a few years ago.

I was close to missing my connection in that same airport because Whataburger was taking forever. Luckily I had time to scarf down my one burger and get to my gate.
