RE: UCF AD open to true 2-1 with Florida
Miami hasn't been relevant ever since the Nevin Shapiro cheating came to light and suddenly they had to run a clean program. Miami cannot win when they're forced to do things right and not have money men paying players and their hookers while parading around as legit donors to the school.
If you take away the bending of the rules and cheating, Miami is just another middle of the pack ACC team that plays in a rented, empty NFL stadium.

I'd add that last paragraph to your signature to be able to go back and see what Manny Diaz is able to do. Could be another Clemson rising with him at the helm in Miami. Dude's attitude is infectious and much of the improvement seen under Richt can be attributed directly to that defense.

Manny Diaz should be a good coach, after all, he was good enough to be hired by Temple.

They said the same thing about Al Golden (who was also hired by Temple). They said the same thing about Mark Richt.
Miami is always "back" until they aren't.

Mark Richt had them ranked number 3 headed into the final few weeks of the season with the previous coaching staffs players and a lot of young guys. They will be back with Diaz. I'm not a Miami fan but to assume that Golden and Diaz are in the same realm of coaching is laughable.

Diaz was fired at while at Texas. Texas. Imagine being the top dream school for every highly rated recruit in a football state like Texas and then being bad enough to be fired by Mack Brown.
From his Wikipedia page
In 2012, Diaz guided the Texas Longhorns to the worst defense in school history.[3]
On September 7, 2013, the Longhorns' defense, under Diaz, gave up a school record 550 yards rushing to Brigham Young University, including 257 to quarterback Taysom Hill. The following day, Mack Brown described the defensive performance as "unacceptable" and relieved Diaz of his duties as defensive coordinator.[4]

How does he only just now realize this? lol
Finally spent just a few mins learning facts...something most sportswriters (or most journalists today) rarely ever do....as they would rather be on emo rage vs learning facts.

I wouldn't do a 2 for 1 with UF, UM, or FSU... If Oklahoma State can do a 1 & 1 with Tulsa for betterment of the game, state and both universities why should those three be so ANAL!

RE: UCF AD open to true 2-1 with Florida
My 2 cents worth. I think UCF is doing the right thing pursuing mid tier to elite P5 schools for home and home. Why Miami did a home and home with Appalachian State I'll never understand, but if they can to that, Miami can play UCF and USF home and home.
With regards to UF. It would be nice to get them on the schedule for 3 games because there's a good chance UCF can win some if not all of them but a 2-0-1 is out of the question. 2-1 is bad enough. Having a team like Florida on the home schedule is attractive enough to increase donations and season ticket sales and if UCF keeps selling out, eventually expand the stadium. By the time the game is played, UCF could have 50 or 60 thousand seats. If you can show projections like that, there's no reason UF shouldn't play at UCF for a 2-1.
If my favorite team were a G5 I'd want them to do mostly only 1-1s but if your UCF or USF getting UF at home, or Houston getting Texas at home, or SDST getting USC-w at home, or Cincinnati getting tOSU at home, I'd want them to do the 2-1. The opportunity to win vs. the state flagship is too good to pass up. Try to have 7 home games a year as often as possible, but having 6 once in a while is not a deal breaker. VT has a lot of 6 game home schedules ahead.

BTW, no AAC team should ever schedule VaTech again after the crap that their chicken $hit AD pulled with ECU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They were in negotiations to to do 1-1 with us. Then a 3rd party involved themselves into the negotiations and suggested camping world stadium as opposed to spectrum stadium. Miami liked the idea and wouldn’t budge on it. So UCF passed and then Miami scrambled for a game and ended up doing it with Ap State. Miami’s AD just like UF’s alludes to one game being in “Orlando” not necessarily at UCF.

We're slowly winning people over to our point of view.
Kirk Herbstreit was vehemently anti-UCF the last two years...until they had College Gameday at UCF and he called the game that night at our stadium. I'm sure he will still have a strong "Power" 5 bias, but he shouldn't be anywhere near as anti-UCF as in the past.
