I'm fine with a 1-0-1. One game in Gainesville and another at the Citrus Bowl.

Done! Contract is in the mail...

This. Its a bad deal, I dont want to give anyone a 2 for 1. Certainly not UF. We dont need to play them. We should've stuck to our original position.

Should have said "we will play you anytime, anywhere" then beat that arse.

Put it on them.
But we make more off of home games than any check we would get from a P5 buy game, and Florida wouldn't even pay us anyway. Even if we won, the excuse would just be "Oh, Florida is just having a down year"

Now there is some fine "spin" there. So if you believe that be content with playing F_U and the occasional Middling P5 looking for a game in Florida for their players.
What exactly did I say that is "spin"? We do make more money off of our home games, Florida wasn't offering to pay us when they talked about the 2-0-1, and the last part is true as well.

There would be something poetic about taking the $hitty deal and then whoop their a$$ all 3 games. Make it a point to run up the score. Would be great.

Agree or disagree this is reality.

I can't figure out whether ucf fans are young, dumb or both.

It wasn't that long ago Florida was buying home games from a member of its own conference. They sure in the hell have 0 reason to play in a 45000 seat bounce house.

Ucf should take any deal they can get and quit whining. It is what it is.

Are you really this butthurt that UCF has whipped Memphis 13 times in a row?

Florida just signed a deal to play perennial PAC12 doormat Colorado in their 50,000 seat stadium.

OMG! 5,000 more seats! It's totally awesome for UF to play in a 50K seat stadium but they couldn't possibly bring their super awesome brand to a 45K seat stadium!!

A lot more UF fans would be able to attend a road game in Orlando compared to Boulder.

UCF should offer the 1-for-1 deal, with the UCF "home" game at the Camping World neutral-site stadium and give the Gators 25% of the ticket allotment. UCF would make bank, as it would be a 65K sellout. And, UCF would still have more than 45K tickets for its season ticket holders and fan base and maintain home-field advantage.

Nah. If they want to play UCF then they can stop being pansies and play us at our actual home field. If Texas and Miami can play at Spectrum then so can the g'damn Gators.

They're playing USF because they know it'll be a UF home game for the Tampa game. They won't dare sign a series where they play on UCF's campus because they'd have to face an actual hostile environment and they'd rather travel across the country to Colorado than face that.

The Citrus Bowl would keep all the revenue from parking, concessions, etc. If we absolutely had to play UF at the Citrus Bowl, then I’d say no to playing in Gainesville. We’d actually be giving up profit we can make on-campus if we didn’t play in Spectrum Stadium. I realize the Gators will never agree to that, but that’s how it is.

No. UF’s AD is a prick. He can take his “non-autonomous” high horse crap that he fed to Danny White and piss off.

Uh, no. We’ve already had a 1-for-1 deal with Miami FL. Florida State is on the same level as the Hurricanes, so they have no justification for asking for a 2-for-1, either. The Seminoles are struggling to draw fans to Doak Campbell right now. As for the Gators, AD Scott Stricklin is obviously not interested in scheduling us because he knows it could mean the Gators losing to an in-state non-Putrid 5 team, something which I suppose they think they can’t afford to have happen.

That's the only way the little guy gets any respect.

Let's just remember how this whole UF crap started, k?

Go back to end of season last year. UF is going to a NY6 bowl game and so is UCF. The Peach Bowl is in Atlanta and everyone and their brother wanted a UCF vs UF matchup in Atlanta. We brought 30,000 fans to Atlanta a year prior and there'd be a lot of UF fans. It'd be a hard sellout and THE matchup of the bowl season outside the Invitational. It almost seemed impossible for this matchup to NOT happen.

And it didn't. Why? Because UF's weasel AD is on the CFP Committee and absolutely intervened to assure this matchup did not happen. It's the only possible explanation as to why we instead got 2 matchups that made no sense. UCF and LSU in the desert and UF vs. Michigan for the 3,000th time. LSU and Michigan had never played.

From this, everyone realized what a weasel the UF AD was and how he directly prevented an actual UCF vs UF matchup on a national stage. He then got defensive, butthurt, and started falsely insisting that he "offered" a 2-1 (he didn't) and insisting that UF is too good for a 1-1 with UCF.

This entire conversation exists because UF's AD ducked a matchup with UCF that had absolutely no reason to not happen and one that every single person not named Dan Stricklin wanted.

Yeah I agree with UCF on this one. I'd accept a 1 at UF and 1 at whatever the Citrus Bowl stadium in Orlando is called now, and I'd accept a true 2 for 1 with the 1 being at the bounce house, but otherwise no thanks. I also agree with the UCF AD being public about saying he'd accept a true 2-1 just so it will be crystal clear when it doesn't happen who avoided it. The UF AD tried to make it sound like he offered that and White turned it down (which I would agree would probably be an unreasonable position).

LOL, Manny Diaz. UM is a relic. They may have a huge season here and there, but they're not coming back. "Da U" is nothing more than a mediocre ACC team whose grand history is well in the past, and they should be treated no differently than BC or Pitt.
