Just FYI on the drugs would be cheaper if they were legal. NOT TRUE. A lot of people still buy MJ from illegal sources because it's cheaper than buying from Big Business. Its rampant in Canada and the corporations are putting pressure on law enforcement to crack down on the unregulated weed.

Hence why people get busted in NYC for buying/selling "unlicensed cigarettes", or our App Fans get in trouble for making Shine in their back yards.

Gov't wants their cut, and they always will. Their cut means higher prices.

Some people are willing to risk cutting those corners, while most of the market would rather pay the higher price and have zero risk involved.

My understanding is street prices dropped but yeah if you aren’t paying taxes you can undercut and if law enforcement loses interest in enforcing then risks of dealing are lessened.

Read article in California the big differentiation illegal dealers offer is delivery and in Colorado a selling point is keeping no records of sales. Apparently Colorado requires every store to scan/capture drivers license data on everyone going into a store. Can’t imagine why people worry about their private data being collected maybe leaking.

Just to clear this up. Werts was arrested Wednesday night July 31. After being bailed out Thursday he was back in Statesboro Friday Aug 2 and he submitted to a drug test Friday, less than 48 hours after the arrest. A good friend of mine in the medical industry tells me cocaine can be detected in the blood for up to 5-7 days so the argument that he waited to clear his system is bogus. He submitted to a blood test as soon as he realistically could

Weed in California is infinitely cheaper with much more variety than anywhere else I've been where it's been illegal. Even adjusting for inflation, I'd say that prices in legal states are 50% less expensive for the same product than they are in states where it's illegal.

Unless regulation creep sets in and business expenses rise, prices for legal are going to be less for higher quality product than what can be had in states where it's illegal.

As for unregulated weed, we aren't talking about Radiator Whiskey being made so the only incentive the government has in cracking down is tax revenue lost to illicit sales. Wouldn't say there is a public health issue similar to lead or other heavy metals polluting backwoods moonshine.

Cocaine will clear the blood WITHIN 48 hours. It will remain in urine for longer and hair for much longer. If someone's use is infrequent and small it could clear your system in less than 24 hours.

I don't think Werts possessed cocaine at any point during this ordeal so the post is meant purely as a rebuttal to the 5 to 7 days claim.

Most of this is happening in Canada. Where non licensed dealers are competing with the Big Weed companies. Not so much in the US where state and federal laws still conflict. California may have cheaper products and work more with volume. But within California is it cheaper to buy from the street dealer or go to the weed store? Not sure. But it does cut into the taxes weed industry.

California has had functionally legal weed since they passed the medicinal law in the 90's. The dealer is cheaper, but the dealer can also lace it with heroin. Which would you choose? $15 more, or the potential to be hooked on something else?

Who is lacing weed with heroin? Not really an economical decision.

Oh boy, that was a good one. Phwhew.

Makes total sense if you don't think about it. No one is going to add something that is $50 a gram to something that is $5 a gram "to get them hooked". That's some old reefer madness nonsense.

The question is are you going to get the same quality product with the same quality assurance? The problem you're discussing is the difference between a manicured plant that has been researched and bred to produce a certain effect versus the dirt brick weed that comes from Mexico or the surrounding state and federal lands in California/Nevada.

VERY few people, if any, are going to find the same quality product for the same price from a street dealer versus a licensed dispensary.

When the NCAA first started adopting drug testing, the head athletic trainer at AState wasn't happy about it because of the unintended consequences. In an interview I did for the school newspaper he said he was afraid players would move from relatively harmless marijuana to cocaine because coke clears the system so much faster.

My friend is involved with testing. I m not sure blood or urine but she stands by the 5-7 day claim. I ll have to ask if that is blood or urine. I assumed she meant blood when she told me but I ll clarify that

I probably should have noted the exaggeration, to show the difference between regulated and unregulated sales. The point is the industry is highly regulated in California and the other states where it is legalized. There's been substantial shifts from the illegal market to the legal one for a variety of reasons, so the costs are evidently worth it for a vast majority of users.

RE: Werts reinstated by GS
So a reporter apparently was able to view the footage of the arrest before the lawyers.

He says in the video that that white substance covered 3/4 of the hood. Said it looked like if someone left a milkshake on the car then drove off and it spilled everywhere. Werts was also on the way to statesboro.

This makes it all even more weird. But I'm gonna guess nobody decided to throw enough coke on the hood to cover most of the hood. And. If there was that much, how could cops only recover less than 1 gram?

So strange
