I don’t see them adding a MAC program.
Underachieving programs with a big city location are salivating right now.
What does CUSA have to gain by adding anyone? They would be better off financially by getting rid of a school. Anyone of their schools. One less share of the CFP payout that's capped at ten schools.

truth be told its better to have an open spot and some flexibility to add later if a school gets hot over the next few years
UConn basketball had quite an effect on their TV deal.

It's a dumb argument but it's still out there.
Well also Tier I research university that's been to three NCAAs and two bowls fairly recently.... but sure, carry on...

Make sure to keep a home game with Kennesaw State so you can have something close to a sellout each year.

Take all of our TV revenue, CFP payout, NCAA credits, etc and divide by 14 isn’t much different than 13. I’m pretty confident we’d try to replace a lost member.

Those guys do realize the AAC isn’t replacing a crappy football team with another one..right?
They’ll try for a MWC school but will be prepared to settle for a
Army type.
No, they stay east. If they are adding an all-sports school, they want a school in a good market, a school that is good in basketball and has potential to be good in football. In an area that produces a lot of football talent. That sounds like ODU or Georgia State.
Army does not make the conference better in football. They don't give the AAC access to a market full of football talent. Georgia State does that. ODU does that.
UAB over ODU is a no brainer.

So let me get this straight, a “P6” conference just lost a school to who??? Not a P5 conference, but to an FCS conference.
If the SBC plays this right, this is the end of CUSA. UAb has played well with many of the schools in the AAC, I see them getting the look, if the AAC so chooses to add another team.

I think this is statistically impossible...BUUUUT...we can totally make an attempt at some of their better programs and leave them pretty hollow with 11 members.

You can come to Huntington and play in front of 6k-7k anytime. We play in front of enough high school crowds in our own conference. No reason to go to Ga State to do that.

Nah. A bigger pool and a whole lot of conflicting interests makes this not so simple. They really don’t have to do anything, though they’d no doubt prefer an even number they won’t be rash. This won’t be decided anytime soon.

Picking and choosing sounds nice, but even if a team gets poached from CUSA, there’s no real way to get to a best of the rest easily.
Using this scenario, at best right now either CUSA makes an attempt to re-add a 14th member, or the SBC goes to 12, grabbing Marshall/(other) to the east and USM/UAB/etc in the west. Maybe at that point CUSA will try to take Texas State to add to it’s collection of Texas schools, in which the SBC will add JMU or some nonsense.
East:
Georgia Southern
App State
Marshall
JMU
Coastal Carolina
Georgia State
West:
Arkansas State
USM/UAB
USA
Louisiana
Louisiana-Monroe
Troy
Basically, every step in this scenario gets less and less likely, this particular scenario does clearly define the Georgia/Alabama Border as the split between East and West divisions.
