2018: Finished 2nd.

2016: Finished 4th.

Yep. And a good amount of our fanbase wanted JJ gone before last season. Some still do.
If stansbury doesn’t win the league this year, I see a lot of the fan base wanting him gone (I might be in the situation). Results matter, water cooler championships are nice and we have done not bad in his time but every thing needs to come together this year.

I love how all the WKU fans talk about JJ always blowing it and never winning the conference. AND winning one does not erase the shortfalls of any previous seasons. But for all the JJ trashing from you guys how many titles has WKU won since joining CUSA?
I can answer that question with antidotal evidence. Up 21-0 on the road and choke out a loss. I would submit that your coaching is the worse in the league.

Well WKU Fans could say the same about ODU's vaunted coaching staff two seasons ago when we beat you down by 30+ on senior night...One night and they have Coach K and company on bench. This time last season ODU fans were all complaining about ole Jeff...

I think those fans would be justified in those feelings. It really is hard to see anyone else but WKU winning this year given the current circumstances.

My money is on UTSA until Stans shows he can do more than just recruit talented players.

They're really talented guards and can score at will. But that still doesn't change the fact that, if I was an WKU fan, I'd be real disappointed if he couldn't win the league in two seasons with a 5* center and a pretty highly regarded team around him.

So we are not even going to let the season play out? To counter WKU fans could say we lost two seasons ago on a shot that went in and out in tournament final, that's not great luck. Last season was a disappointment, no way sugar coating it, but we did make the finals and we laid an egg... So first season not really going to count due to being way behind the eight ball and cleaning up the mess Harper left. So we have had one really good season and one disappointing season. Not sure I would write off Stansbury just yet after 2 seasons. We said for years Jeff Jones couldn't win the big game. Lets see what kind of season Stansbury has this year, I still believe in him. Also he is bringing in some really good X's and O's assistant coaches which should help. I believe past staff had mainly just recruiters....

What do you think I was referring to with "two seasons with a 5* center"? Last season and next season are the only seasons y'all have had under Stans with a 5* center that actually suited up.

Remind me again who was the preseason favorite last year? At least ole Jeff has never gagged on a big one as preseason favorite. So the check to your 5* recruit cleared and he is back. Enjoy watching Stan waste his talent again.

People forget how young last years WKU team was..... lots of talent but was missing a true point guard and had too much youth. Lot more experience on this years team, my expectations have went up for sure

We all disparage preseason rankings (as we are now doing with the Orlando Sentinel football rankings) yet throw them in an opposing fan's face when they turn out to be wrong. Duke and UK prove year after year that having young 5 star players does not guarantee success, so WKU having one 5 star player and a very young roster (as was the case last season) should not have and did not guarantee success either. ODU won last season while not the preseason favorite. It happens a lot in all conferences in all sports. That doesn't mean that any team choked or gagged. It means that preseason rankings are a guess which is why they play the games.
I am not sure why fans can not just enjoy their success without feeling the need to insult their opponents.
ODU had a great season. Congatulations. Enjoy it, because future success is not promised to any of our teams.

Why are you guys trying with these odu guys. They are just sad their best year in 10 years couldn’t even get a win in the tournament. And now they have nothing to look forward to as all the good players are gone.

Jack, there is a WKU poster named Jacque that wants you to discuss your small-dick insecurity problems with him:

Probably not even the best in the last 5 years. We were just fortunate that the rest of CUSA sucked.

10 seconds on google could've helped you out a bit there, or maybe that was a really bad attempt at sarcasm. And I guess you already forgot (or never knew, based on your limited ability shown above) that the highest scoring player on the court in our championship game was a sophomore who returns.
Not sure what the obsession with ODU has been lately for the WKU posters, but it's been pretty enjoyable to read. You guys all sound a lot like the salty Marshall fans last year, the difference is your team didn't do anything at all. Enjoy your presseason, we enjoyed our season. Looking forward to next year.
