RE: Bye Chase
I'm out in terms of donations. Now it's time to decide whether I give to the college at all. I've been an active donor at high levels (get some nice perks) for about 20 years. So long.
Thanks for all of what you've done Samantha.

RE: Bye Chase
I wonder if Huge feels like the Captain of the Titanic after striking the iceberg. Has she even had a press conference to explain the wisdom of the decision to part ways with Coach Shaver?

Did Huge really not have a strong enough pulse on the team to see this coming? And if she knew the risk and/or likelihood of these players leaving, how did she really consider getting rid of Shaver to bring in her own guy the best thing to do?
Because even if she really wanted her own guy, if we lose, it’s on her. Wouldn’t she rather win with Shaver than lose with her own guy? Because if we lose, she loses.

Btw, we need the right coach but waiting even 2-3 more weeks for that right coach (and that would be a quick process overall) feels like forever in this context where we are potentially losing players left and right and continually waiting for the next shoe to drop.

It's possible Justin and Chase are merely concerned with the suddenly changed environment and simply exploring options in the event they aren't pleased with our new coach.
This can be salvaged but none of us should feel confident.

It's a sudden event that causes great damage. But that's not important right now...

RE: Bye Chase
All of you.
I don’t understand the gnashing of the teeth.
Chase and Justin appear not to want to be here next year. That’s their choice. This happens all the time, everywhere.
Ya’ll are so fixated on the Dance. Enough already. This fixation is killing our fan base. I don’t ever want to get to the Dance because this stuff is just crazy.
We had a coach who wanted to be here. Take the players who want to be here and suit up. The sun will rise tomorrow.
I’m going to say it plainly. The AD is trying to save 2020. God bless her! If she pulls it off, and keeps everybody here, more power to her.
I would have said Coach stays, players leave ... but she didn’t. That’s her call.
So, there you have it. The AD, the former coach, and the new coach deserve our support.
The players? Players come and players go ... the program endures ... the school endures.
And before anybody accuses me of half-truths and misleading again, I’ve said enough, and will say no more, and will not correct any errors.
If you can’t read between the lines, and see how all of this makes sense now, can’t help you.

I can't wait to hear what spin Huge and her 3-4 apologists on this board are going to give this.

I agree with you on this, especially since his tweet said "After talking with my family, we have decided to enter the transfer portal to explore all my options. With that being said, I'm still considering W&M as one of my top options and excited to see the new coaching staff that is hired".
Could the title of the tread be changed to "Chase considering transfer"
Let us hope that the AD and her advisory committee acts quickly!

If Audige and Pierce aren't on the team next year, Huge should probably lose her job.

I've said it before. Both Huge and Rowe are rookies in their positions. Firsts for both. Rookies make mistakes. Let's see how they clean it up.

Buh bye. Leaving the school and your team without even knowing who may take charge. Open roster spot for a better pickup by a new coach. Sorry. Hate to see Tony go, but jumping schools the minute there's adversity is the new norm.

She saw it coming and tried to head it off. She sided with the players over the coach. That’s my point of contention. I would have said Coach stays, players leave ... we will rebuild.

Give Chase credit here, he just wants to keep his options open as per his tweet:

Have we ceded so much power to the whims of 18-22 year olds?

In the current way the ncaa is run, I'm not so sure he will need to sit. Did you see the Ohio St QB Tate Martell that transferred to Miami and was granted immediate eligibility? He didn't even lie. His reason was more opportunities.

Makes sense ... I don’t like it and agree on keeping Tony ... that being said, if you’re gonna go the way Huge did why not go all the way and put Knight on the advisory committee :).
