RE: 2020 FB Recruiting
I can't say much in terms of how good the guys are, but I am impressed in the focus that they put on positions of need. I feel like that was incredibly important and looks like Cignetti and staff did a good job of that.

I have the same opinion. I am gonna trust the Cig with his opinion of this recruiting class and reserve any further judgement until they are on the field.

What I really like is that Cig and his staff displayed a real plan to address positions of need rather than just going after the best athletes available regardless of position and then being stuck trying to jam square pegs into round holes being overloaded at certain positions.

If you can't trust a dude that was likely considered a top 10 talent evaluator in the country at any level when he was at Alabama, then there's a good chance you can't trust anyone.

I don't trust him any further than I can throw him. And with my bad knee, I shouldn't be throwing anyone!

The next Polk? For those concerned about this, he was a 4 star recruit.

I think Bracey will be a handful at the FCS level. Looking forward to seeing him play this fall.

Who is going to throw Bracey the ball? I see us being a very run heavy team next year.

Whoever Cig determines from off-season workouts, spring ball, and summer/fall gives JMU the best chance to be successful. I will trust the staff to identify and develop a QB that will be just fine.

Expect lots of shovel passes and sweeps. He seems very athletic; just get the ball in his hands and let him do his thing.

Many forget the concerns we had a QB going in to last season. It turned out pretty well.
Cignetti has pretty clearly said JMU should never be rebuilding. He expects to win next year. Coach isn't going to settle for QB that can only hand the ball off to our RBs.
The good news is that our offensive system doesn't need our QB to be a superstar- make good decisions and don't turn the ball over. If Cignetti feels like we don't have that guy on our roster, then I think a transfer will be added sooner rather than later.
He's been here long enough to know what Cole and Gage are capable of at this point.

Spring ball should be interesting to see who gets how many reps with what team. I'm sure we'll all be statisticians in a couple months time.

We're going to be a run heavy team regardless of the QB as long as Cignetti is at the helm

Its definitely "run first", but seems more like a balanced attack last time I looked at the stats. Run sets up the pass, but more passing than I recall under MM. I actually think we passed a little too much in Frisco.

Also - I think folks are going to be pleasantly surprised with Cole or Gage. They've looked pretty good to me when they aren't busy running for their lives on every down. Pass protection matters.

A little surprising seeing as he was as enthusiastic about coming to jmu as anyone during recruiting.

Seemed like a pretty good kid, so hopefully he finds a home to play football and have an enjoyable college experience. I’m sure he’ll have plenty of opportunities presented to him
