RE: BB Class of 2020
Gabe Wiznitzer reclassified to 2020 and is now committed to Louisville. We are getting beat up on the recruiting trail pretty regularly by them. Tough to compete with their resources and conference.

Other than JJ Traynor who is from Bardstown, who else are we losing to Louisville? It's never been a pipeline for us anyway. I'm sure Wiznitzer who was north of 100 in the rankings will move up with a Louisville commitment(wink wink), but i'm not sure Lahkin isn't a better fit for what Brannen likes to do offensively. I think either one of them is a development project.

Our staff might have known that was happening, which would make sense given the timing of the Lakhin commitment. Or maybe the staff is higher on Lakhin than Wiznitzer. Would have loved to have him as a 2021 commit though. Next year, I think we'll need a wing, a grad transfer big, and a HS big.

Agree. They're ranked pretty comparably. I can't say I've seen much film on either, but I struggle to see how we got so beat up here.

Yeah, I'm not sweating it. The 2020 class is excellent. 2019 was awfully good too considering the adverse situation of a late coaching change. I'm very optimistic about Brannen's recruiting chops.

Technically, MAYBE Jay Scrubb, who's going to the NBA anyways. Not the least bit concerned with "losing" recruits to Louisville, it comes with the territory when you have a staff that swings for the fences as opposed to backing off when there's even an inkling of interest from a top tier program.

He was given a short window in 2019, and had to deal with a Pandemic in 2020...I would love to see what CJB can do in a "normal" window.

Yep, and Scrubb is another Louisville kid. The fact that he's in the last group for these kids in my mind is a good sign. I'll be more curious to see if Lahkin redshirts or not next year. I don't think Wiznitzer had any inclination to redshirt so given we likely lose Vogt and Rap after next year hopefully Lahkin can contribute in 2021.

I know Traynor and Eason would have both been takes likely, but I'd rather have Eason over Traynor and Lahkin over Wiz. They both seem more offensively skilled whoch is what we've been lacking and it's what CJB covets

Agree, and i think Eason and Traynor were mutually exclusive recruits. I don't think we would have gotten both as the commitment of one likely would have sent the other one elsewhere. From what i've seen, Eason is a much more versatile player which fits well into what Brannen is doing personnel wise.
