I'd rather us play it at the covered practice field than at the other teams place.
There’s no way that could happen.

We shouldn't play in Tuscaloosa until they agree to play us.

I know, I was being hyperbolic. Just conveying that there is no way we should ever concede home field advantage.

Should we win the right to host a conference championship game I wonder if it could be moved to Friday night. I know the tv thing going on etc. but we have our own Brian Mackin on the inside now of CUSA "making things happen".

If we can't do a double header, we should try to move the game to either Friday or Sunday. If that won't work, maybe something could be worked out with the Hoover Met? I know it's way too small and the optics locally might look bad playing at Hoover's stadium, but I'd rather play in a smaller stadium that's local than play in another city or concede home field.

C-USA has nothing to do with it. They signed a contract and CBS can hold them to it all they want.

I wondered if UAB had some type of legal contract with Legion Field that would obligate the facility to host a championship game involving UAB? You'd think that both UAB and Legion Field should have realized this was a possibility when the SWAC game was booked? The C-USA game while tentative was on the schedule prior to SWAC game moving back to Legion Field.

You'd think so, but you'd be wrong... This is the same athletic department who screwed the pooch on the Auburn basketball contract.

I’m hoping this is the case.

The Hoover Met is a godawful venue for football.
And too small.

Maybe temporary seating could be brought to alleviate some of the size issue. Regardless of how we feel about the venue for football, to me it beats playing the game in Boca, Miami, or Murfreesboro.

If we're going to have to bring in seating to a place that will still be too small, I just as soon do it on campus at the soccer facility.

Either or, just add the seats.

It’d be pretty embarrassing to play at the met or a soccer field. Just give to the other team if Birmingham’s team can’t play at Legion Field

Agree... After all... It's for the players & coaches right? At least that's what I heard.

If additional seating at an alternative venue is to be a possibility, perhaps playing at "historic Rickwood Park" becomes a choice. It is in B'ham, and the TV appeal with the museum there might be a plus in its favor. It is after all, the oldest active ballpark in America (being 10 years older than Fenway in Boston)..
