Just means more when they win the championship on the road.

If this happens, I'm going to whup some message board butt over "C-UAB".

Let me know when someone of authority says UAB cannot host a Championship game IF we earn that right. Work to be done first. ;-).

Right. This is all speculation at this point. Somebody as prepared as Bill Clark is hasn’t overlooked this potential issue.

I started the thread to get information. At some point I received the information needed to understand the situation, which obviously some delusional fans haven’t if they think CUSA is going to allow the championship game to be played on a baseball or soccer field.

It makes one look very idiotic & like gumps when you think that a major college football game could be played at a baseball stadium or soccer stadium that holds under 8000.

Let's get into the situation first then figure out what CUSA, CBS, & UAB decides to do.

NFL games are played in baseball stadiums sometimes.

RE: If UAB wins the right to host th CUSA championship
The Hoover Met hosted several Alabama state high school championship football games in 2004. Hurricaine Ivan wiped out an entire week of football in September and the regular season was extended by one week. This caused a scheduling conflict at Legion Field which hosted both the high school games and SWAC title game.
The Hoover Met hosted 4 title games on Friday and Saturday. Hoover High played in the 6A title game at Legion Field on Thursday against Bill Clark and Prattville.
The Hoover Met added temporary seating with scaffolding for those games. A company that provides seating for golf tournaments was used at that time. It was a much larger temporary set up compared to the one used for regular season Hoover High school games.
I attended the Saturday games on a frigid day to watch Homewood High play Russellville High.
I'm not sure what the capscity of the Hoover Met Stadiun was on that day in 2004? I'd estimate between 16K-18K. It was a nice setup and much better than the usual one used for Hoover High regular season games.

The ASU stadium seats 26,500. It would be like a 1.5 hour drive bowl game. We would keep home crowd advantage. I bet would would pack it out and it would be so loud.

On the other hand, if I win the megamillion this week I will pay off all involved and we will be at LF

I suspect Clark, Ingram or anyone at UAB has little say in the matter. The conference will decide if Legion Field is unavailable.

My money is on Birmingham and C-USA figuring it out, either moving the SWAC game or holding a double header
